History lesson for Ole Miss: LSU and fulfillment of contractual agreements

LSU agreed to a 10 year contract with A&M to play home and home football games, but they were getting their asses handed to them year in and year out. So they wanted out early, but the contract required them to either find a suitable replacement or pay $400,000. They found Northwestern State and called that "a suitable replacement" and refused to pay what they owed.
That was on us for thinking of them as trustworthy partners!
Long story short, LSU won't pay what they are contractually obligated to pay if they can find an underhanded way to weasel out of it, so you can bet they are advising the players who are trying to not pay what they are contractually obligated to pay to do the same.

And yet we still managed to make it to Atlanta multiple times and win multiple national championships including one that was the worst coach in the history of your school. Meanwhile, your team hasn't done shite in 60 years. Your coaches also don't seem to like it Ole Miss either and would rather be at LSU.

Take it easy on ManBear, the Rebel board was basically telling him to STFU on the Rant the other day because he's embarrassing them, and now he's in his feelings.

The matter isn’t between us and LSU, it’s between us and the two players. It’s the decent thing to cover your new hires buyout but not technically required unless they stipulated they would in their deal.

We have paid more in coaching buyouts than just about any other program ever, over the past 10 years. LSU doesn't have a problem paying what they're contractually obligated to pay.
$82,300,000 in buyout payments over the past 10 years.

You forgot to add trying to duck the Kelly buyout but had to be forced to honor those terms

It was not Northwestern, it was USL.
Not only did that replacement relieve LSU of its contractual obligations Aggy agreed to, but it forced Aggy to play in Lafayette, Louisiana — where they lost… to USL.

I didn't forget that. You forgot the absolute clusterfrick the whole firing was, where our AD fired him and never had the authority to do so because he never consulted the board first. The new AD then officially fired him with cause, but the damage had already been done, which was why LSU had to pay his buyout.
