LSU terminated the remaining games of its 10-yr contract with Texas A&M after the Aggies had beaten LSU five consecutive years. LSU AD Joe Dean acknowledged he was responsible for ending the series early.

A&M AD Wally Groff said LSU owed A&M $200,000 under the contract for the two canceled games but offered only $100,000; A&M accepted the reduced amount on advice of its attorneys.

I did some light Googling related to the series and really only find information from TexAgs on the matter and there seems to be some disagreement as to what actually happened.

I am somewhat confused as it appears the home and away began in 1986, and ran for 10 games as you said the original agreement was for, and then it ended, yet some say LSU backed out two games short. Was it renewed two years in or something?
