If you want to slow down the HUNH, just pay the refs pre-game to spot the ball slower ala what the NFL officials said they would do.

They are supposed to, because that is the rule exactly. The officials are required to allow the defensive players time to get on and off the field.

Using your "logic", if the defense is coming on a blitz and the number of players rushing the QB is greater than the number of players blocking, the "extra" defensive players should have to delay their rush by 5 "Mississippi's" to make it fair.

Correct, but the official will continue to stand over the ball if the offense subs in order to allow the defense to sub.

For the idiots who don't understand the basics. Let's let Les Miles explain EXACTLY what I just said. Jesus you guys don't know the game of football.

Richt and Les discuss this perfectly. Thanks for playing douches.

, as its as much a liability as an asset, if you go 3 and out a few times your D gets gassed really fast when the other team puts up long drives. the only thing i think is cheap about is when the hunh team try to slip in substitutions without letting the refs see, so that the d doesnt get a chance to substitute like its supposed to. That could be resolved if the refs would just do what they are supposed to, or require that a coach or staffer inform a ref of a substitution.

except it doesnt always. the refs dont always adhere to this, either because they dont see it or they are rushing around so the offense can snap when they want to.

No. They actually don't. If they did, they wouldn't be discussing these things as possible rule changes.

That is a ref issue, not a HUNH issue.

This is exactly what is supposed to happen. It doesn't always, but that's on the refs.

Yes, they do. If the offense makes a substitution, the defense is given the opportunity to also substitute. Officials will not let the ball be snapped, while the defense makes a substitution, under those circumstances. If the offense does not make a substitution, they can snap the ball, while the defense is trying to substitute.

The refs move as soon as the offense as set. Watch Oregon games. As soon as the QB is ready the ref moves every time. Defense is still scrambling.
