"No one is talking about this, but look for more fake injuries by the defense," ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit said. "I've talked to defensive coaches. These guys are actually practicing faking injuries in practice."

Someone said on another board that the HUNH first appeared in the NFL around the time Saban was the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns. Coaches would have their players fake injuries, forcing more frequent commercial breaks, which eventually agitated those in power - thus putting pressure on the NFL to do something about the offensive philosophy before it hurt TV ratings.
I don't know if that's true or not...just repeating what I read.

I find this hard to believe.

Require the player to be on the sideline for the next 2-3 plays. That'll curb the bullshite.

How do you sort the liars from those who are actually banged up though?

I disagree. I don't like the HUNH. I think it's cheap. I encourage the faking of injuries. Why can't they just play regular old ball and not have to speed the game up?

Interesting to me that '07 LSU ran just half a play fewer per game than '10 Oregon. Also, '09 Bama ran just one play per game fewer than '10 AU.

If you're actually banged up, you'll miss more than 2-3 plays.

That or control the ball while on offense, but the HUNH teams have such shitty defenses its almost impossible not score quickly unless done on purpose.

Yea why don't we eliminate everything that gives anyone an adavantage! Like blitzing with more guys than the offense has to defend. I mean why cant they just play regular old ball. amirite!!!

If they really are hurt they prolly need to sit out a couple of plays anyway.

Bills used the K-Gun in the early 90s baby. Didn't help with those Super Bowl games
