Zach Dumas

You can see Pelini jumping around in there somewhere.

The Bednarik hit just doesnt look that vicious to be honest. I know it was supposed to be just world ending or whatever but it just wasnt what I expected.

my favorite part is when he stands over him and raises his arms

That's a lot like the hit reggie bush took against the eagles a few years ago.

One of my favorite hits, not necessarily the hardest, is when hines ward completely flatbacks Ed Reed on a block.

God, here come the Ags with that damn Coryatt gif

Your Agsession is noted. First reply of the thread. By popular demand, here is Texas A&M's Quentin Coryatt's connecting with TCU's Kyle McPherson on a ferocious hit on a pass over the middle, breaking McPherson's jaw in three places:

I miss old man football.

That OSU AU hit looks to be the hardest so far

"Hardest" is debatable. But, I would say that it was the most perfect hit on a RB that I think that I have ever seen.

he hardest hit i've ever seen was Zach Stacy for Ohio state vs Auburn in the late 80's. I'll see if I can find a link. It was a classic swing pass that was lead a little too far and ended in a full speed destruction

Yeah, Stacey Danley got destroyed on that hit, ironically it was the turning point in the game for Auburn in that bowl game after Danley got up and walked off the field strong, shifted momentum in our favor and we blew them away the rest of the game.

The Rosegreen hit already posted (though it would be illegal these days) was a good one, also Reggie Cobb got drilled similarly in a late 80s Auburn/Tenn game, though I've never been able to find a clip of it.

Lots of hits have been done on a similar level, it's just hard to find video of it since they were pre-internet.

Thats pretty fricking vicious, but I still think the Dumas hit was worse. They are close though, and the fact that Coryatt never budged an inch and just stood there looking down at him makes it even more impressive, I just think the force of the Dumas hit gets the nod so far.

Plenty of harder hits, but that hit, combined with all of the circumstances surrounding it, make it probably the best defensive play of the last few years.

Yes, virtually any by Thomas Davis or Greg blue. Only problem is none of the great ones are on YouTube.

In high school I edited a VHS tape called hitfest from the 03-05 seasons with all the great ones, it was about 10 minutes. Oh to be able to put that online.

It was just bonecrushing. Both guys moving directly towards each other at full power with no buffer whatsoever. No time to flinch, and both guys are pretty big too. Just a world shaking hit IMO.

God I wish we could have gotten Clowney. We were so close too.

Not the hardest hit I've ever seen but definitely one I will always remember.
