Georgia Tech = filth. They deserve every bit of obscurity they've achieved since leaving the SEC. They are a monument to stupidity and should only be mentioned as a warning to others.

There was, at the time, more bad blood between Alabama and Georgia Tech than even between Alabama and Tennessee during the Tennessee Fulmer years. When Fulmer wouldn’t attend the SEC meetings because he didn’t want to be served a subpoena. And Logan Young got murdered by either Alabama or Tennessee. Both had motive. But none of that caused schools to change conferences. The Alabama/GT feud did. The Chick Graning hit had a lot to do with it. And also the other stuff.

I know, blind links. But all related to AL/GT or Alabama and the state of Georgia.

I don’t think Bear Bryant had much use for Georgia, Atlanta, the UGA, or GT.

Tulane for sure. Could’ve been the Vandy of the West. Oh well!

Please give us Georgia Tech back.

Missouri and Texas A&M have been awful additions in every way.

One hit in one game made a big impact on conferences.

Georgia Tech and Florida St make more sense for the SEC.

Mizzou and TAMU can go join some mid western conference. They have been awful additions.

Tulane?

Sewanee is feeling very left out of this conversation.

They have the same number of national titles in the last 30 years as future members; Oklahoma and Texas - and current member, Auburn. And more than 9/14 members of the conference.

How many national championships have they won in the last 30 years?

Thirty seasons ago would begin with the 1993 season.

I could have sworn that they haven’t won a title since 1990.

Ok. 33 years. Feel better that they have the same as your school in the time frame? And that your 2 biggest rivals have 10? Lol

I realize math is hard for some people.

It would really suck if my school has NEVER had even one undefeated team in it's ENTIRE HISTORY. How is that even possible for an athletic program as successful as UF? (I know, I know, you have to lose at least one game in EVERY SINGLE SEASON ever played)

I have personally witnessed three such seasons.

The SEC allowing Vandy to stay is extremely costly. 60 million a year in revenue going to a program that contributes nothing. ESPN would pay us more just to leave Vandy’s spot vacant simply to have anyone but Vandy as an SEC opponent for 8 games. They cost the rest of the SEC in unsold tickets whenever they unfortunately end up on a home schedule.
Now this is just not seeing the forest for the trees.

Let me point something out: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M.
One of those teams will finish as low as 9th overall in the conference standings every year, maybe lower if one of the other schools step up. Now that divisions are going away, there won't a an East or West title to give to a second team, it will just be SEC Champs. Teams are going to settle into pecking orders; I guarantee Oklahoma isn't happy at being down while entering the SEC. They're in danger of disappearing like Nebraska did.

Tulane and Georgia Tech made hugely bad decisions, in retrospect. Tulane did worse, as they aren't P5 anymore.

The GT folks want you to believe that Bear Bryant was partly the reason along with the scholarship issue.

But the real reason and the only reason was $$$ and greed. GT resented having to share the spoils of their success with the other conference schools. Back then bowl money was a huge amount for the college each year.
GT thought they could go independent (similar to Notre Dame) and reap a big windfall. Pure greed was the reason they left the SEC. Worst decision by any university on any level in the history of college athletics.
And that is the reason they will never be allowed to return to the SEC. They made their bed and now they get to continue to wallow in it.

1. They have a great all-around athletics program.

2. They’ve been here since the start.

3. They help offset the intelligence of the average Bama fan.

Didn't they leave because bear Bryant was hoarding players when he was not supposed to?
