Tre Mason had that Amazing TD run in the NCG where he ran 2 guys over for the go ahead TD with like 1 min left

It was a great play. First thought that went immediately went through my mind before I even got excited about the TD was “he scored too early”. Still the most painful loss in all my years as a fan and alum.

2017 @ USC

Ehlinger drove Texas 99 yards to score a touchdown with less than a minute to go to give Texas a 17-14 lead in his second start ever:

Sam Darnold and USC then drove down the field off of 2 or 3 big plays and kicked a FG as time expired to tie it at the end of regulation. USC would win 27-24 in 2OT.

Hurt like hell as a fan, but both Sams at QB showed a lot in that game. Ehlinger had guts and Darnold could prove that even in his worst college start he still had the moxy to take of business when needed. Awesome college football game.

1. 2012 LSU v Alabama - Mettenberger TD pass to Jarvis Landry to take the lead in the 4th quarter. We all know how that game ended

2. 2017 LSU v Florida (baseball) - Florida was up 2-0 in game 2 of the title series of the CWS headed to the 7th inning. We scored 1 on a double by Josh Smith. Smith advanced to 3rd on a single by Jake Slaughter. With 0 outs, Mike Papierski had what we thought was a GIDP to tie the game, but Jake Slaughter was called for interference and the runner at third was sent back to 3rd base. The run didn't count, and we couldn't get the run to tie in. Then, in the top of the 8th, Kramer Robertson was thrown out at home, Florida again saving the lead. Florida went on to tack on 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to win the game and the title 6-1. I feel like those 7th and 8th innings are forgotten by many.

3. 1998 College World Series - LSU seemed prime to 3 peat. They hit 8 home runs in game 1 and another 6 in game 2, and were in the semi-final round against underdog USC, needing only one win to advance to the title game. Some unseasonably cold, wet weather moved in to Omaha. I wanna say it was in the high 50s. The wind which was usually blowing out at Rosenblatt moved in, and we lost two games to USC and were eliminated. A young lsufball19 was devastated in the stands

4. 2004 LSU v Iowa (Citrus Bowl) Freshman Jamarcus Russell came in to replace Marcus Randall and led LSU to a huge 4th quarter comeback. LSU took the lead in the final minute of the game only for Iowa to win on a hail mary in Saban's last game.

5. LSU v Auburn 1994 - we sucked arse, Auburn was a top 5 team IIRC. And, we all know about this game, so it wasn't one play for either team but the entire game. Auburn only had 8 first downs and were outgained 407 to 165. However, Jamie Howard threw 6 picks, three of them being pick 6's. Auburn also recovered a fumble in the endzone. LSU lost 30-26 with Auburn having one offensive score the entire game, a first quarter field goal

6. 1998 LSU v Alabama - LSU blocks an Alabama FG with around 4 minutes left up 16-6 which seemed to ice the game. LSU went three and out trying to run clock, Andrew Zow led a TD drive on Alabama's next possession but only 2 minutes were left in the game. Alabama recovered an onside kick, scored another TD, LSU threw an INT and Alabama won the game. The number of flukish plays at the end of that game had me convinced we were cursed.

Great topic, OP. Lots of interesting answers.

The winner of this contest unquestionably has to be North Carolina's 2015-16 basketball team against Villanova in the NCAA finals.

Marcus Paige hit the most incredible shot to tie the game with 5 seconds left:

Then Villanova responded on a buzzer-beater beating them in what had to be the most heart-breaking fashion of all time:

2008 LSU Alabama.

the worst team Miles had blocked a last second field goal against undefeated and #1 Alabama as time expired to send the game to OT.

First play of overtime Jarret Lee throws an interception and we lose

Same reaction I had when Jalen Hurts scored the TD to take the lead over Clemson in 2016. Felt we would have been better off if he had just dropped to the ground at the one.

Goerge Teague's great play against Miami almost made people forget Langham's great plays to get Bama there for a while at least. Langham's pick 6 vs Florida in the first SECCG, is often called the play that changed college football.

Immediately thought of Eason to Ridley. Talk about mountain top to valley in 30 seconds.

A&M vs. #1 Oklahoma 2000:

Ja'Mar Toombs 19 yard TD run on 4th and 1 carrying 3 OU defenders on his back into the endzone to give A&M a 31-21 lead. Oklahoma won 35-31.

A&M vs. #1 Alabama 2013:

Johnny Manziel does his Johnny Manziel thing, scrambling out of what looks to be a 20+ yard loss sack and heaves up a prayer which is caught by Edward Pope for a 1st down. Scored that drive to go up 14-0. Lost 49-42.

#8 A&M vs. #9 Tennessee 2016

Trayveon Williams looks to put the game away with a long touchdown run only to have the ball stripped at the 1 and result in a touchback

and finally

A&M vs. #2 Clemson 2018

Quartney Davis scores but the ACC refs rule it a fumble and a touchback.

In the 13 Iron Bowl, with under a minute left trailing by 7, Nick Marshal fakes the read option, and keeps, rolls left, and hits a wide open Sammy Coates to tie.

This was overshadowed by alabama midget coach nick seban trying a 57 yard field goal minutes later, with one second left on the clock.

Pick Six
1994, we pick six #1 Florida to tie 14-14, 83 yards by Fred Thomas who had a steady career w NO Saints.
In their previous to SEC outings they had beaten Kentucky 73-7 and Tennessee 31-0
Was a great 90 seconds, but then of course they got the ball back. Final ended up 38-14 but we were kings for the moment.

It was absolutely amazing.

Another one is Malik Monks Game tying 3 in the Elite 8 vs UNC and before Kentucky fans could jump up and down and celebrate UNC already had the ball on the other end for a Luke Maye Buzzer beater
