Easy. Jim Bob Cooter.

Perhaps not the greatest, but perhaps biggest snub in regard to voting that I can think of would be for Mahomes.
Nobody was paying attention because Texas Tech huge offense mediocre win/loss record is typical, but Mahomes was a monster in 2016. 5052 passing, 65.7% completion, 41-10 td/int and single game record for passing (734) and total offense (819) vs OU. a game they lost. Even though he only had 285 rushing yards for the season, it was enough to have 76 more total yards than lamar jackson. He won sammy baugh trophy but didn't even place top 10 in heisman voting. I'll admit Im one of the many that did not recognize his greatness before 2018, but looking back, the performances were definitely there.

Tua, Deshaun, Peyton and Vince Young all come to mind.
Who is the greatest out of that 4? If you look at post-CFB, then right now it's Peyton Manning. Watson is still new though. Young's NFL career, even before the injury, wasn't good - his 2007 season where he threw 9 TDs to 17 INTs is rough.
Watson's 3 seasons are certainly better than Young's career. Young was so bad that if I were to rank them post-CFB, I'd probably go:
Peyton
Deshaun
Tua
Vince
Honestly, all 4 though had great CFB seasons worthy of winning the trophy if they occurred in other years.
Other QBs that come to mind:
Andrew Luck (2-time runner-up)
Rex Grossman
Eli Manning
Drew Brees
That Gino Toretta has a Heisman and all of the guys I've listed don't is kind of telling (and Toretta got his over Marshall Faulk and Garrison Hearst).

I would vote for Peyton Manning as being the greatest snub in Heisman recent history anyway.

Completely different eras, but okay.

Peyton didn't commit to an established dynasty stacked with 5* talent, either.

If Bowl games happened before voting there is no way Young doesnt get that heisman in a landslide vote. I still remember that game and I dont give a shite about either texas or usc.

Watson is light years a better QB than Tua

Tennessee was the best or second best SEC program of the 90's. They had tons of 5* talent even though recruiting didn't really exist back then.

My homer answer is Peyton but might as well get things stirred up.

Then some shade definitely needs to be thrown the Texas Tech SID's way.

I want to say Peyton, but Watson carried a team to a Chip. As much as I loathe to give it to a Clemson that really might put him over.
But you could say Peyton really should have won the Heisman. Watson wasn't better than either Jackson or Henry in his two best seasons.

Tough to vote for someone at an also-ran Bit XII team unless you have an insane highlight reel like Jackson, who was probably the best player in CFB two straight years.

Grossman was better than Manning in college. Dont let Mannings pro career change the outlook of his college career.
