Dabo is basically a worse mark richt that had the fortune of deshaun and Trevor and a weak arse conference. Dabo has done practically zilch without those guys. Kirby has won bigly his entire career after year 1 and done it in multiple ways.

We’re not talking about Georgia VS Clemson. We’re talking about Dabo vs Kirby.

Which is like comparing Kalen DeBoer and Brian Kelly, is it not?

Both played for a National Championship and benefitted from playing easy schedules. Both have not done a whole lot since they played for said National Championship. Is Kalen DeBoer... Brian Kelly 2.0?

Dabo just went 5 straight seasons outside of the top 10.

not yet

If Kirby goes 5 more years without winning a playoff game and if UGA’s recruiting starts to really fall off (some dawg fans have been a bit concerned with how it’s gone so far for this year but still time for them to finish really strong) then maybe we can start having this discussion

It’s not only that but he got very fortunate with Venables and Jeff Scott. He hasn’t won anything since they left. He is a glorified wide receivers coach with no system of his own. Kirby is an actual football coach. Dabo had what 9 guys drafted off that team last season and won 7 games in the ACC while is former offensive coordinator played in the ACC championship game with a bunch of scrubs.

There were "internet rumblings" for probably a decade before they moved on from Richt and only then it was because they saw Kirby as "their guy" for some time before that. It would be a major seismic shift in the culture for them to suddenly go chasing "shiny objects" with respect to coaching.

So unless Kirby implodes into some version of Ray Goff for several years I doubt they'd move on.

Kirby will stay as long as he wants to be there. That doesn't mean there will never be internet "rumblings", because the internet is populated by trolls who try to talk things into existence.

This is possibly the most intelligent post on here this week.

Kirby is fine, but the reality is fans are dumb and the further we get from the back to back Natties the more fans will complain. The major advantage Kirby had is now gone with NIL. Five years ago everyone laughed at the thought of UGA losing to Notre Dame or Ole Miss. Today, it’s happened and UGA is not getting stronger year over year. Their advantage this year is they are one of the few top teams returning their QB which is why I say the SEC’s only hope for a Natty is UGA. Texas and LSU simply don’t play good enough defense to win in the playoffs.

And this might be the dumbest post.

How the frick do you know what kind of defense either of them will field this year? I sure as hell don’t and I follow lsu religiously.

What would it take for Kirby to be on the hot seat?
Winless in conference play, getting BTFO'd by the nerds, looking up at Kentucky in the recruiting rankings, all assistants jumping ship, all rostered players being arrested by GSP or hitting the portal, and him livestreaming explicit acts of himself with underage male family members of the Governor, Lt. Governor, mayor of Athens, and the commanding general of Ft. Benning.

If all of that happens, his seat might get a little warm. Still probably safe for two or three seasons after all that.

Because I’ve seen teams coached by their coaches for years and neither Sark or Kiffen have ever emphasized defense. If you believe they will then good for you. But we all know Sark’s agenda is Manning all day every day and Kiffen’s agenda is all about Kiffen all day every day. I like them both as they are entertaining but Kirby is the only SEC coach who cares about defense.

To be fair, Dabo hasn’t gotten hate from Clemson fans for not winning a title recently, he’s gotten hate for letting the program become outright mediocre. They were 7-6 last year in an AWFUL ACC.

It would have to get to that level at Georgia before natives started getting restless. And it would have to stay at that level for 3+ years before Kirby was at any real risk of losing his job.

And I honestly believe Kirby would just retire before that happened.

An ACC team that didn’t win their conference played for the national championship and possibly should have won. They weren’t that awful man

Remember how long UGA road with Mark Richt??? Kirby's won 2 NCs, Richt won ZERO. If it's any indicator, I'd say Kirby could go 9-3 every season at Georgia from this point forward and he would probably be able to coach there until he retired or died.

I think it’s a fair comparison. Compare their coaching records, NC titles, CFP appearances, etc.. there very similar with Dabo even leading in several categories. He was the coming of Jesus several years ago. Won 2 NC and beat Bama for one of them. The difference is he’s tapered off since 2018 and winning his last title.

Dabo has averaged 4 losses each of the last 5 seasons in that weak arse conference. Gtfoh with this comparison being fair.
