Stop saying things like “Bama and UGA will never be able to stack talent like that again…”. They didn’t stack talent, they BOUGHT talent. That advantage is now gone and suddenly Saban retires and Kirby can’t win playoff games and the SEC can’t make Natty games. None of this is coincidental.
There are a lot of incredible coaches out there who were winning games at lesser schools that didn’t allow them to buy players for fear of probation. That is no longer the case and has resulted in all kinds of teams making the Final Four. Indiana, Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas, Ohio St, Penn St, and ND are last 2 years Final Four. Not a Saban or Smart in that group.
It’s almost as if buying good players makes coaches good.

It is k8nd of crazy the SEC Champions the last 3 seasons couldn't win one playoff game.

Are you honestly trying to tell me Oregon, Miami, Texas and Ohio State wouldn’t allow their coaches/boosters to pay players pre-NIL?
I can buy that for some schools, but let’s not act like most of the big boys with any kind of substantive backing weren’t paying players since the dawn of collegiate football.

Hell if you look hard enough at the internet you'll find "bulldog" fans rumbling about Smart today...in the midst of back to back natty's about 1/3 or more Dawg fans were questioning Smart's coaching ie Stetson Bennett. CFB fans are, for the most part, dumber than a sack of hammers.
I think Smart stays as long as he likes...and I think, given the current state of CFB, that may be sooner than most Dawg fans want to admit. I hope I am wrong and he coaches into his 70s but that is highly unlikely given the strain that is coaching at that level today.
And for the record comparing Dabo and Smart is fair...its far closer than Smart and Saban at this point in Smart's career. Dabo is one of the most succesful coaches ever....discounting that is just foolish. I hate the bastard but devil his due and all...

I don’t know if you know this, but Saban retired a few years ago. Kind of tough for him to make the finals.

Yeah, I think it’s fair at this point in time. I’m always open to changing my mind with additional knowledge.

Not Georgia's fault for winning the SEC the last 2 years and skipping the DEI playoff round, where you can win a DEI playoff game and brag about "winning a playoff game."
And it's 3 SEC championships in the last 3 seasons, ya dumb frick.
