I don't know why everybody hates on Gary so much. It's a little annoying that he fawns over Alabama so much, but let's face it, they've been well coached, have had great athletes, and have won championships over the last decade.

I agree and precisely because he does Alabama games more than probably any other team the last few years of course he is going to have some bias. Maybe he is just trying to pull a flag for the best interest of the conference and trying to get two teams in.
My comment was he was changing his argument to one that is completely contradictory than his stance just a week prior. At least have some consistency in your views.
He has waved the flag for other teams. In 2011 after the SECCG he was saying LSU should have locked at least the AP NC. It wouldn't have been that illogical if Miles had actually prepared a decent game plan and keep the game at least close.

While watching games I turn the TV volume off and listen to the radio broadcast over the Internet. I usually have to adjust the video through the DVR to get the audio / video to match.

Yes because Braxton Miller got hurt in the Spring workouts. He was technically not named on the active roster. But he was the starter the previous season and no reason to think that he wouldn’t have been coming back. Barrett beat out Jones, shattered a ton of touchdown records, got hurt against Missagain and the rest is history. Unfortunately for Barrett, Meyer brought in a horrible o-coordinator after the national championship once Tom Herman left. And Barrett and Jones regressed. Tim Beck sucks raw aggy arse

His point now has validity, and it's really related to Oregon more than anyone else. If Bama goes into Auburn and wins convincingly behind a backup QB, it makes Oregon's loss to Auburn at a neutral site look much worse in comparison, and common opponents is a prime data point.

If you want to make the argument that Conference Championships shouldn't count, then let's drop them all and quit making the better teams play one more game than the lesser teams.
Conference champions don't count any more than performance against common opponents. Bama's hopes hinge on going up against Oregon. If Bama goes into Auburn and dominates behind a backup QB, Oregon's loss to the same team at a neutral site will be what keeps them out, and no championship of a conference that's barely a notch above the Group of Five will save their asses.
