This was always the Bessent/Trump plan. Those numbers are encouraging. If it keeps going like that there will eventually be a consensus that the economy is on the repair. That needs to be the case by late summer. There is plenty of time. What we need is a few more months like that resulting in a hot labor market and a further easing of mortgage rates.

We were supposed to be electing an administration that would fight these things. Sure, I’d rather this administration over the Kamala one, but it’s the difference between a rapid descent and a slow and steady descent. I wish we could get out of the descent.

As I suspected, that link does not support the view that SFP thinks black on white crime (or black crime in general) is not a problem. I’ve been reading SFP posts for a long time. He tends to be conservative, but what he is more than anything else is argumentative. If you use 2+2=5 to support a view that he also holds he will go to the mat arguing that you are wrong.

It’s primarily two directions and has been for centuries. Of course there are offshoots, but they are typically small. Even in European parlimentary systems, in which many parties exist, they still sort themselves into left and right wing groups for organizing governing coalitions.
ETA: Anyway, as I’ve posted before, I think of the political spectrum as more of a circle, with the left wing nuts and right wing nuts sitting cheek to jowl at the bottom.

The best thing Trump did, besides saving us from Hillary Clinton, was to give us an example of standing up to the woke mob. I will add that he called bullshite on China and prevented the US, and the West, from getting into a terrible situation vis-a-vis China.

Yeah, I think the OP’s explanation is a likely contributor, but decapitating the government probably had something to do with it, if it is even true that crime has gone up. Another factor would be drug interdictions by Trump that would cause criminals to turn inward due to the risks at sea.
Too many factors have changed recently in Venezuela to be able to conclude much.
