He was wrong:
43. Receiver stepping out of bounds.
First and 10 on the A-20. A10 throws a pass to A80 at the A-40 near the sideline. A80 catches the ball and runs to the 50 where he is tackled. There are no flags on the play. Replays show that A-80 stepped out of bounds on his own at the A35, before coming back inbounds to catch the pass. RULING: Reviewable play. Reverse to illegal touching of a pass. A 2-10 on A-20, adjust game clock if necessary (Rules 12-3-2-b, 12-3-3-h and 12-3-8-e).
46. Receiver forced out of bounds
First and 10 on the A-20. A10 throws a pass to A80 at the A-40 near the sideline. A80 comes from out of bounds, reestablishes inbounds, catches the ball, then runs to the 50 where he is tackled. The Side Judge rules that A80 was blocked out of bounds by B37 and legally touched the ball. Replays show there clearly was no contact between A80 and B37. RULING: Reviewable play. Reverse to foul for illegal touching. A 2-10 on A-20 (Rules 12-3-2-b and 12-3-3-h). In this situation the replay official cannot rule on the severity of the contact, but if there is indisputable video evidence that there was no contact then the play is reviewable.

Because it was the correct call. As long as you know the rules, it isn't hard to understand...

Yep. 1) We didn’t force moss out (obvious). 2) moss’s foot was out of bounds 3) moss reenters the field. Those three don’t add up to equal a catch. Now, your turn.
1. Hard to know one way or another. The corners hands were on him when he went out, that’s enough to call it a force.
2. Definitely stepped out of bounds because he was forced out.
3. He came back in play, got both feet down before making the catch. Pretty clear he reestablished himself before making contact with the ball. Really not sure what the argument is.
In the end it really doesn’t matter, that call isn’t why bama lost.

That is the hilarious part of all of this. All the fans drawing diagrams and citing rule books and posting close up photos would be doing exactly the same thing with the opposite desired outcome if the call goes the same way for the other team. And fewer than 10% of them can even recognize that in themselves.

Over the confirmed catch. Don’t have a link, but it happened. Danielson basically told Shaw that they blew the call and really made Shaw look bad in the media viewing area of the stadium.
If true, Danielson needs to be relieved of his duties today.

It was first and 10 in the red zone dipshit

Well well well, a gump complaining about the refs. Thought only LSU fans did that back door Gump. How sweet it is. We have many many years of catching up to do !

It was first down. LSU was marching right through that paper soft defense and would have more than likely score anyway.

Right. And wasn’t like Alabama’s defense was successfully stopping Burrow.

Bama fan here. They got the call right but the explanation on television AND by the SEC were dead wrong. It bothers me that the people enforcing the rules don’t know the rules.
First, he wasn’t pushed out. 3 scenarios:
1) He was pushed prior to ball getting there. If he were, PI should have been called.
2) He was blocked out. Illegal touching would be called here if he were the first to touch it.
3) Both going for ball, but no foul. If you rule this, you cannot call it forced out by rule.
So, it seems they got the call right by accident.
Let’s call legit catch A. Incomplete B. Sequence should have been:
1) Ruled Catch on the field (We’ll call this A-1)
2) Reviewed moss’s feet. He touched out of bounds. By rule, he cannot be the first to touch ball, so, overturned call with flag for illegal touching (B now). However,
3) Upon review, Diggs finger tip hits the ball. By rule if someone else touches first, Moss can re-establish. So, we overturn our overturn (We’ll call this A-2)
4) By rule, the communicator with the replay official only has to report A. So, his instruction to the ref is, “the call is confirmed.”
5) The ref could have asked for clarification or provided clarification, but he did not do so.

Gary was in tears after the game because Bama lost. Even a Bama fan admitted that Diggs should have been called for 3-4 PI/holds during the game.
You lost. LSU throttled Bama and the game was only close because we let up in the 3rd QTR. Once it got close, Burrow and Clyde put together 2 more 75 yard drives to put the game away and a desperation late TD where Stingley stumbled and an onside kick doesn't change the fact that Bama got curb stomped at home.
It's really pathetic you can't come to grips with this. You must be one of those kids that has to have his way or needs a safe space.

No shite. I don't know why you shitheads think this is some sort of deep insight into human nature. Of course people are going to take positions that benefit themselves.

The call changed the dynamic of the game. Was pivotal in LSU scoring 17 in final 4 minutes. It’s okay though because the title goes through us once again on dec. 28th.
It was first down you fricking idiot

We are used to getting screwed by the SEC refs (WHICH BAMA DID NOT BECAUSE IT WAS A GOOD CATCH!)
I can't believe how much you Gumps are bitching over the game FINALLY being called fairly and impartially.

It’s funny watching the melt on this play. This happened on 2nd down. Even if it were incomplete they still would’ve scored a TD on that drive

Gary was just embarrassed that he totally blew the call in front of 16.6 million people and got corrected in front of 16.6 million people.
