I remember never being inside unless it was getting dark out. We were always play baseball, football, riding bikes, etc. We had no desire to be inside.

On Saturday nights I would sit outside and listen to the "pick of dixie", football game on AM radio.

I would go outside because inside there was too much static. Radio announcers were really good and painted a great picture.

As someone posted, there was 1 college game on tv on Saturday afternoon.

I remember watching some show about ND weekly, like their highlight show, and I didn't even like ND.

fricktards who "okay boomer" a mother fricker in the middle of the night with no fear of having his arse stomped down at the local Sonic or Whataburger .... by a boomer, is part of what's wrong with all of this.

You do realize that the only reason they do this is because it illicits an emotional reaction out of people such as yourself, right? “Ok, Boomer” is just trying to annoy you because they assume you’re the type of insecure person who gets angered when people ignore them. If you don’t react, it’s not fun for them.

After 1970? Seriously? Born a little bit after that, and I remember the days of three channels and no cable.

As a very young Tiger cub in 1969 when I went to my first game in Death Valley vs. Auburn, I can remember those were the days of (off the top of my head):
Vaught, Bellard, McClendon, Bear, Jordan, Battle, Dooley, Royal, Broyles, Parseghian, Hayes, Schembechler, McKay, Devine, Devaney, McGuire, Paterno, Daugherty, Fairbanks, et al.

Announcers: C.Schenkel, J.Lampley, B.Wilkinson, L.Nelson, Bill ?

Players:
A.Manning, Bert Jones, T. Casanova, J.Musso, P.Sullivan, T.Beasley, J.Reaves, C.Alvarez, L.Alworth, T.Bradshaw, J.Ferguson, J.Mildren, S.Street, R.Kern, J.Theisman, S. Owens, J. Capelletti, etc.

Good times.

Watching "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood" reminded me of all that was going on in America simultaneously that fall:
-The moon landing....
-Chappaquiddick...
-Helter Skelter/Manson
-Woodstock

Great post but getting handed a job because you walked in the door and asked if they were hiring doesn't seem all that difficult.

I remember Dizzy Dean doing the game of the week. The only baseball on tv. Saturday afternoon.

And college football teams could only be on tv two times a year.
