Which is why I want a CEO type HC, why I loved Mack Brown. Get a guy who can run a program and knows how to deal with Boosters, ADs, etc.
Then hire the best OC and DC you can find.
You simply cant do both, Sark thinks he can due to arrogance and ego but its been disproven time and time again. All these guys though think they are the greatest in the world (it takes that ego to get to the top) so I have little faith Sark adjusts enough to win a natty here.

Don’t disagree with any of that. Arch is a complete mess right now which you described well. The issues we are seeing have arisen during his time in Austin. He did not turn the football over in 2024-2025. He did not have terrible footwork in 2024. He was not indecisive in the run game or in the pocket when he first hit the field in burnt orange. And now he is John Mateer with game losing turnovers late in games. Sark has to be accountable for his development or lack thereof in his four years here.

Its tough to really say. I personally don't think he's been given a fair shake when Texas can't run the ball with a light box and the offensive line cant stop a blitz. It just put the entire offense onto him and puts him at a disadvantage.
He shows flashes every week, but also makes so head scratching decisions each week.

I like Arch enough that at this point he needs to transfer so he can have a good year next year. Texas does poor at developing quarterback and also running the ball.
I hear there's a kid in Kentucky named CJ Baxter who is really running well this year, maybe we can pick him up in the portal and boost our run game.

"he" has something to do with that...but they won plenty games inspite of his play on the field.

"Small school with little competition "..... and yet he was only second string All State.

The same can be said with Marcel and Elko. When they cut off his running game they knee capped him as a QB. He is not.a drop back QB, his strength is movement and pulling the trigger when defenses sag.
He won't be an NFL QB ....and he won't be back at A&M next year. Hope he takes Elko with him.

Was shocked when they "told him to go". Wisner as well.....just stupid.

He's not horrible. He's 76% winning percentage as a starter. Only two other QB's in SEC with a better rate. The hype and expectations exceed him.
Imagine how good Texas would have been if they didn’t feel obliged to play Manning.

Is Arch really bad?
Look at it over 3 generations
Grandpa = Known in the South but disrespected everywhere else. NFL career was spent not chasing Super Bowls
Kids = Nationally known and Super Bowl rings
Grandson = lots of media hype grandpa and the kids never had to deal with coupled by attending "all hat, no cattle" school in austin. Guessing that pressure alone is greater than all 3 before combined.

Watch this video if you really want to know. The problem is Arch as the plays are there, but it’s also on Sark if he keeps playing him.
This video is damning.
My opinion? Start Arch as he usually does good with a script. Play KJ Lacey on 3rd series, preferably with his own scripted plays.
Go with the hot hand after that.
I also would support Lacey getting the start, but I don’t see that happening.

It all starts with Oline play (which still falls on Sark to make a change).
The Oline isn't that bad. The offensive scheme is terrible at times. It's like Sark loses situational awareness in games. When OU and Florida are heavily blitzing one side of the Oline, stacking more defenders than there are blockers on that side, why in the heck is Sark calling these dang slow developing plays where receivers are running 15 to 30 yards down field before they even turn to look for the ball? Why no crossing routes underneath so the linebackers gotta stay honest and have to make a decision other than just bull rush the QB at a dead sprint?
Part of it is Arch's slow processing, but it is also Sark and the stupid slow developing crap...It's like he doesn't understand the strengths and weaknesses of his QB or the Oline.
