Does this mean if college football dies there will be fewer commercials during games?
If so, IN.

Interest is at an all-time high and tv ratings are at record highs.

are you 14 years old? do you not realize how long college football has been around? you are wondering if college football can survive?

From the perspective of an LSU fan, this makes perfect sense.

You sound like the type of guy that puts on a pussy hat and marches in protest.

Instead of blaming Saban how about other teams get on his level???

As a kid, did you ever get sick from eating too much candy? Too much of anything can harm you. Alabama football fans have been given too much winning and it will have serious long term harmful effects on their lives. No one can assume this level of winning in any other aspect of their lives and having a football team doing so only convinces it's fans that they themselves are just as successful.
It is a psychological trap that will leave most of these people disappointed in their own shortcomings because almost all of them fall short of the standard. At some point in their lives they realize that they are not Nick Saban and it destroys their appreciation of who they really are and what their lives are about.
Too much of anything has harmful effects. Sugar, drugs, alcohol, sex, winning, you name it. People become addicted and constantly need their fix. This, unfortunately is what has become of Alabama football fans. Most are a lost cause. Saban retiring might save the few that haven't been totally messed up. Life is more than football and Alabama fans are missing out.

It’ll bounce back once Saban retires. Dynasty may continue under Dabo but there will be much more parity. [b]Maybe a natty every 5 years. We’ll survive and so will the sport.

"Hey son, I got a great opportunity here for you at Texas. Immediate playing time, lots of women, top of the line facilities...etc."
"But coach, I have a chance to go to Alabama and practice against the best players. Coach Saban said he could see me on special teams within a year or two."
"Okay son, go enjoy your practices then."

Yep. It's really weird how true athletes want to win so badly. This crap about wanting to be a part of it all is so silly.

Tell me this. Saban has ruined the rivalry between Alabama and Tennessee by killing off the Tennessee football program. Weren't you happier as a fan when winning this game actually meant something? Weren't you happier as a fan when you worried about this game and was relieved to win it? Didn't it taste sweeter then? Saban is destroying all of your former opponents to the point where you don't even get a thrill if you defeat them. Admit it. This type of fan existence isn't fun.

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but it doesn't work that way.

I will never get tired of watching the boys beat the ever-living shite out of Tennessee.
Never.
Never.

So, what you're saying is, your favorite team winning a lot will give the fans diabeetus?

I have enough stress in my life. I'm more than thankful that I'm not Nick Saban. Sure, the money would be nice, but a job like that is nothing short of stressful, and I don't need that in my life. I'm comfortable being a fan and thoroughly enjoying every win.

Too much sex is harmful? Maybe if you're Charlie Sheen. The only thing harmful about "too much winning" is the psychological effects it has on the fans of the losing team. If you'd like an example of this, look in a mirror.

You're right. It's more than football. That's why I work to make a living to enjoy my life outside of being a fan. You should probably take a look at those words and apply them to your life. Based off what you've been saying, you're way too invested in your teams inability to beat Alabama. Hence why you're begging for Saban to retire and trying to convince everyone that him winning is bad for Alabama fans.

I get a thrill from every single touchdown we score against those orange frickers. And, every time that clock hits 00:00 and Alabama is victorious against the orange plague, I am just as happy as I was at the start of the streak in 2007.

"That's why I work to make a living to enjoy my life outside of being a fan"
You are a prime example. You say that you work to make a living yet here you are during work hours posting on a football forum. I am retired so I don't have the same problem. Your work should be more important to you than this. Alabama football has done this to you and you don't even realize it. Those of us fortunate enough to not be Alabama football fans can see this clear as day. You folks can't.
