This WILL effectively end college athletics. Young blacks who think this is a good idea are the biggest losers when all of the dust settles. NFL dead. NBA dead. College football and basketball dead. Opportunities for a wealthy sports job, currently going mostly to black athletes, will disappear. Liberals have infected and killed more once great things, cities, families, and cultures than anything else ever could.

Black Lives Matter was on that Tiger Stadium jumbo tron. The LSU basketball team released a video with prominent former tigers expressing support for Black Lives Matter. When is someone at the university going to be held accountable for aligning themselves with this Marxist group? When is someone at LSU going to release a clarification on their apparent alignment with this Marxist group? Drew Brees was NOT allowed to speak his mind on the anthem protest before being threatened to the point of making a total arse of himself. Why is LSU being given a pass on THEIR alignment with BLM?

We all know the answer is that they won't do this. That is why they should be banned from promoting "Black Lives Matter" and all of the destructive messages it sends to fans and voters. This is one-sided and pissing many of us off, perhaps purposely. Pissing fans off in large numbers is a threat to the future of your sports program and deserves being discussed on this forum because of that. Once again, the LSU athletic department is the one allowing this crap. I sincerely hope that the TAF is looking at this and plans some way to make it stop. The slogan "Love Purple, Live Gold" does not contain the word "Black". Stop allowing those who wish to force it in there somehow from getting away with their treachery. If they are so proud of this new slogan of theirs they should be proud enough to let everyone know whose idea is was to use it. Those of us who have been insulted by this deserve to know the name of the person responsible.

Already reduced to playing the race card in your argument? There is already a place for athletes to get paid for their talents. It's called professional football, baseball, basketball, etc. Let them forego college and go straight to the money. I could give a shite. That colleges provide another avenue to showcase their skills and actually enhance their chances at making more money is a positive, not a negative. That colleges offer a chance to get a valuable education that can set someone up for their entire life even if they are unable to get one of those huge professional contracts is a positive. Nobody is forcing anyone to play college football. If they don't like the setup, don't go to college.
Just don't assume that eating into the profit margins of major college football means that colleges will continue the sport. THEY built it and THEY own it and THEY have complete control over whether or not THEY see it as worth THEIR time and money. Your proposal isn't about THEM. That's where it fails. THEY are more important than the athletes. THEY are the golden goose. Keep stabbing it. It all goes away.

Wrong again. The proclamation ONLY applied to the slave states in rebellion. Five slave states, Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, Missouri, and Tennessee were not affected by it. Lincoln, needed an excuse for war and forced the issue with his aggression at attempting to resupply a fort that in reality was no longer under his command. Like I said, the Confederacy had a right to defend itself.
The north had managed to turn each dollar earned by the South into a forty cent profit for the North. THIS was the primary reason for the secession. They were sick and tired of being raped financially by the North. The North could not give up it's good deal for itself and decided that the South would not be allowed to escape from their abuse. They forced their will upon the South. The South just wanted to chart their own future without being robbed constantly by the North.
As to slavery, the North, in an effort to keep the South from secession even offered up an amendment to the Constitution that would have enshrined slavery forever. They could care less about slavery. They wanted their forty cents out of every dollar generated by the South to continue, no matter how much the South detested it.
