It is a brand new park about 1.5 miles away.

Is that a new park or is it being renovated? If renovated, where are you playing your games this season?

New. The old park will be torn down to make way for the new $85 million football facility.

That does look nice. That would certainly give y'all a leg up on FSU.

I wish Georgia would toss some money towards some real improvements to Foley Field

Won't happen any time soon.

It may just be me, but the only time Foley gets close to full is when UGA is playing a quality opponent that is either close by or has a substantial alumni base in Atlanta.

Clemson, LSU, and Florida fans aren't going to be contributing to the Georgia Baseball Fund.

It would be really f-ing nice to see someone like Alex Wood make a large, public donation to UGA baseball. Maybe other guys like Gordon Beckham, Justin Grimm, and Josh Fields could chip in as well. Would be sweet to see older UGA baseball alums like Jeff Treadway get involved with it too. I think something like that would spur enough interest for UGA fans to contribute enough to the Baseball Fund to get Foley improved.

Hell, I hope we play at Gainesville in 2021 so our coaches and people in the athletic department can see Florida's upgrade and that light a fire under their arse to do something with Foley.

I love Georgia’s stadium. When I was growing up I always wanted to live in the house in right field. So dope

Looks great, love the food trucks in CF. I’d love for Texas to come play a series after it opens.

There’s a simple answer to UGA baseball attendance:

Sell beer.

Every game would sell out

Why? What is the attraction of a berm? You get to sit on grass and hope to squeeze out a piece of sod for you and your companion(s). Give me a chairback seat any day.

Berms are great for a more casual experience. You have kids that can spread out and move. I’ve seen girls go out and lay out.

For a more serious game with a packed house, they’re a giant pain in the arse. Olsen needs to replace at least one of the berms with seats ASAP.

I think this puts UF back in the upper half of the SEC baseball facilities. I would think Vandy may be next to upgrade their field. They have a bigger logistics problem than Florida.

Here are a list of SEC baseball facilities ranked by size. I pulled this off wikipedia, so let me know if it is incorrect.

Dudy Noble 13,000
Baum-Walker 11,129
Swayze 11,000+
Alex Box 10,326
Sewell-Thomas 8,500
Founders 8,242
Florida Ballpark 7,000+
Blue Bell 6,100
Kentucky Proud 5,000
Lindsay Nelson 4,283
Samford 4,096
Hawkins 3,626
Foley 3,291
Taylor 3,031

Well it is going to be a little chilly on Friday for opening day in the mid 60's but warm up and be in the mid 70's over the weekend. I imagine it will be pretty similar this time next year.

How are things looking in Starkville for this weekend? Are you taking off work so you can catch the game at 1pm?

A&M’s AD at the end of the Big12 run had low expectations. He actually shrunk Olsen during the very nice renovation. The reduction physical seats for berms was a terrible choice. We should have some improvements done in the next couple years to boost capacity to 7.5-8k. Our season tickets sell out and we back the house (tons of GA) for big games.

I can see that, especially with the increase in student population. A&M needs a good year or two and I would bet something will be underway quickly.

For all 15 fans to show up too

The only thing I hate about founders , is we built it before a lot of the SEC built new places so everyone new is building newer better stadiums

This is kind of funny because I do find it amazing that anyone would pay to see the Gamecocks compete in anything. Kudos to your marketing dept or something. Please tell us how you can convince Carolina fans to keep filling the seats year after year.

We did rank in the top 15 once again for average attendance. Think it's a pretty safe bet average attendance is going to spike rather significantly with all of the new amenities.

I understand that the roof canopy for the upper levels will be made entirely out of magnifying glass.......

We tell them, "hey, at least you're not Florida Gator fans and have to sit in that piece of shite baseball stadium they have...."

it seems to work well.....
