Yeah it's a tie between Tennessee and Xavier (31 wins, no FF).
Mizzou has 23.

Yeah, you felt compelled to do this because...? You just needed to shout "UK great, rest of SEC meh?"

LSU has had some very good teams, but Kentucky? Historically good. Thx for the reminder.

Razorback basketball doesn’t get enough respect.

We’ve spent most of the past two decades wandering in the college basketball wilderness. Stan Heath. John Pelphrey. Mike Anderson.

Hopefully Cal can make us a desirable, destination program again before he moves on, retires.

They didn't respect themselves.

Nolan was making less than a 7 win coach.

Nah, let dalton still argue that Bama is better all time than UF based on regular season stuff

I never argued that Alabama is better than Florida. I simply listed all time rankings in several different metrics.

You are the one who came to the conclusion that Alabama is better than Florida.

A logical person would agree that all time wins, winning percentage and NCAA tourney appearances is a pretty good measuring stick for program success.

Given how much the tournament has changed over the years, kind of need to put all these different numbers into context.

Not trying to discount history, but a F4 when there are only 8 teams in the tournament is comparing apples to oranges to the 64 team era. Not sure how to account for these differences, but they are different.

In the 40 or so years of the 64 team tournament, think the F4 numbers are:
UK - 8
UF - 6
ARK - 3
OU - 3
LSU - 2
AUB - 2
ALA -1
MSU - 1
TEX - 1
USC - 1

You are arguing that Florida Atlantic and Jacksonville University are better basketball programs than Tennessee and Missouri. That is certainly a bold decision.

Florida Atlantic:

Final Fours: 1
NCAA tournament appearances: 3
All time winning percentage: .418

Jacksonville University:

Final Fours: 1
NCAA tournament appearances: 5
All time winning percentage: .493

Tennessee:

Final Fours: 0
NCAA tournament appearances: 27
All time winning percentage: .616

Missouri:

Final Fours: 0
NCAA tournament appearances: 30
All time winning percentage: .576

LSU's record in the Final Four is 0-4.

Texas is 0-3.

Congrats on finishing in fourth place more than everyone else.

I listed teams by NCAA appearances.

Sorry Florida didn’t make the cut line.

Why not list NCAA tournament wins? What you do with your appearances is ultimately what's used as defining measure of success.

NCAA Tourn Wins:
UK - 134
UF - 54
ARK - 52
OU - 43
TEXAS - 40
BAMA - 32
TENN - 31
MIZZ - 23

I agree...that's weak. It's like hanging Citrus Bowl Champion Banners on your football stadium, weak.

None of dat matters; we were pre-tournament national champs in 1935. Did the vols ever win it all or get to the final 4?

NCAA recognizes the Helms Athletic Foundation list for Pre-Tournament Champions in 1935...so, that would be NYU, rather than LSU.

LSU (who were Co-Conference Champions with Kentucky) squeaked by an 18-6 Pitt team while NYU beat Kentucky who was then a 19-1 team.

I wouldn’t make fun of LSU basketball if I were Tennessee fans. It looks petty and stupid given LSU has been to the final 4 multiple times and the Vols none.

Yup it was Pearls inability to coach basketball honestly and not cheat

So what’s Barnes’ problem along with every other coach who’s ever coached at Tennessee?

Pearl couldn’t get to a Final Four at Tennessee. He then went to one of the bottom three programs of the SEC (at the time of his hiring) and quickly made two Final Fours in ten years.

Barnes made a Final Four while at Texas and then came to Knoxville only to not get it done in a decade+.

At some point there is a common denominator.
