Favorite neutral or alternate sites in SEC territory?

Lots to pick from depending on the magnitude of the game, bowl game, rivalry, etc…
Superdome
Mississippi Veterans Memorial
Legion Field
Ladd-Peebles
Cramton Bowl
Liberty Bowl
War Memorial in Little Rock
Georgia Dome
Gator Bowl
Mercedes Benz
and for you really old folks…

I know it’s a dump now…but Legion Field is a place I wish I could have seen a game. I drove by this past summer while there was a car show going on, and it’s definitely dated.
I’ve had a blast at the Rock…some awesome Battles for the Boot in that place.

Once upon a time in 1968 there was a double header: Alabama v LSU and Auburn vs Tennessee. Those were the days Legion field was called the
Football Capital of the South.

Legion Field was different.
You knew you were watch hallmarking different there.
Saw multiple Iron Bowls and Sec Championship there.
The city around it was electric. The games were amazing. Barbecue was great as well.

All neutral site games suck unless they are postseason with few exceptions like the Red River Shootout and that weird game in Jacksonville. As for alternate sites, I did always enjoy playing Tulane at the Super Dome.

Legion Field, until the barners ruined it.

Had several of those in Jackson:
1977 Ole Miss vs LSU/State vs Bama
1979 State vs Florida/Ole Miss vs USM
1981 State vs Florida/Ole Miss vs Arkansas(both on TV ABC for State and ESPN for Ole Miss)
1986 Ole Miss vs Tennessee/State vs LSU
1989 Ole Miss vs Bama/Jackson St vs Alabama St

I went to several games at Legion Field, and it was a great place to watch football back in the day. While I was stationed at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, I also made it to the Blue-Gray Game at Cramton Bowl, which was played every Christmas. One of the perks of being in the Air Force was getting free tickets to the game.
I've also enjoyed watching games at the Superdome, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the old Georgia Dome, Jerry World, and NRG Stadium.
One stadium I wish I had experienced is Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium before LSU stopped playing Ole Miss and Mississippi State there. I also remember when college football fans could watch two games on the same Saturday—both in Jackson! Those were some great football days.

Was the area around it always ghetto? I drove by during the day. The folks running the car show were super nice and let me park for free while I wandered around the outside. But it’s clearly in a depressed area.

Even the Hogs are glad not to play half their games in the shithole that is War Memorial Stadium.

Any of the NFL domed stadiums that are used for the big time opening weekend neutral site games have been great. Superdome, Mercedes Benz in Atlanta, Jerryworld, Reliant, you name it. If you're going to play a September neutral site game outdoors, at least make it in a cooler climate. Even though the game itself was terrible, LSU playing Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay was an awesome trip. That was the last dying gasps of the Les Miles era.
