Eh, Kirby Smart's loss to Nick Saban in the national championship game was closer than Kelly's and Kirby has won a playoff game.

Jimbo has a national title and has beaten Nick Saban.

Ed O has beaten both and had the greatest season in modern football history.

If anybody doesn't think LSU just significantly upgraded its HC is either stupid or dishonest. But this is a fan board so I get it.

Disagree. I think Kirby is already more "accomplished" than Brian Kelly. Kirby lost a natty on the last play of the game - BK has been bent over every time he gets to the big game. They both have 0 rings - but kirby has an SEC championship ring - which gives him the edge IMO

Also Jimbo has a natty. So he is more "accomplished" as well. Brian is 3rd at best when it comes to actual accomplishments.

Fact 2: Brian Kelly is 10 years younger than Nick Saban

Fact 3: Florida hired ULL’s coach

Fact 4: Jimbo is a colosal disappointment and just lost to Ole Miss’ and LSU worst coached in 30 years.

LMAO at any of you losers trolling this hire. Thanks

Maybe you shouldn't care what other people think and just watch football?

Don't be so fragile.

I think BK is a great hire, better than Lincoln for sure.

But Billy Napier is going to be real good at Florida. He’s an organizer and a recruiter. It may take some time but he will be a force in the East. LSUs opinion of UL clouds anything and everything coming out of Lafayette. Like Alabama to UAB probably. Think about how hard it is to recruit a kid to Lafayette. He’s done a remarkable job. Conference Championship game every year, about to get his 40th win in 4 years…at UL!

Anyway, the SEC has some fantastic coaches for the near future.

Kelly won’t be the next Saban, but he no doubt can be the next Dabo, Urban or Switzer.

Switzer is the luckiest coach in football history. He was handed the best team in college football at Oklahoma in 1973 and the best team in the NFL with the Cowboys in 1994. He never had to build anything.

Aggy should be the LAST to laugh at LSUs homerun.

While Aggy has little room to laugh, this is less "home run" and more "bunt and hope everyone makes a series of errors to score"

I mean Jimbo has a natty. Kirby has been to the playoffs twice now and is like 15 years younger. So, at best, you're looking at the 4th most accomplished coach.

I think Kelly is a great hire.. and ND had no one ti blame but themselves. Don’t want make academic exceptions, don’t want to join a conference, pay our HC G5 salary.. I hate that ND is in contention and this happened.. but it’s the Admins own Damn fault!

There ain’t a sole on this board who would take Jimbo over Kelly if their life depended on it.
There are however plenty of “souls” that would choose Fisher over Kelly.

For the entirety of Kelly’s career at ND, LSU and most other SEC fans have said how weak they are, how they only win because they play no one, how they didn’t belong…now you are adopting their “success” and projecting it onto LSU.

Kelly is a good coach, but ND was soft and didn’t play anyone. Now he will likely have better talent, but also better opponents. What’s all this mean? Who the hell knows.
