If we could ignore tv contract concerns and focus on adding schools for competitive reasons, similar sports culture, and geography, we’d add Clemson and FSU. In the real world, we’d add Texas and OU to round out the West with two marquee all sports programs.

Expansion in the SEC: Replace or Expand?
10 team, round Robin, best two teams play in Conf Championship game. It is the only thing I really like about Big 12 football.
Alabama
Auburn
LsU
UgA
UF
Tennessee
MSU
UM
UK
-debate is open for the last spot-

The Big 10 will go to 16 teams. They will go after Mizzou and Colorado. 2 teams, 3 media markets.
ESPN is cutting back. The only national ad on the SEC network is AFLAC, pathetic. ESPN cancels Longhorns network and brings Texas to SEC. Big 12 closes shop. West Virginia goes ACC, OU and OSU go Pac 14 along with Baylor.
Big 10 will have the largest TV deal, ACC will be second, SEC and PAC 14 fight for 3rd place.

When have Kentucky Football fans (or half of those listed) been cocky?
Thanks for letting everyone know who to troll in the future.

I'm 100 percent against future expansion under any circumstances.

People are sooooo stupid that it amazes me. I don't care if you have 10 teams...12 teams...14 teams...16 teams...some of those teams will have to lose more than they win or the conference is never going to be in the playoffs. The only reason you can have an Alabama, LSU, UGA or Florida vying is because you have an Ole Miss, South Carolina, Arkansas, and others losing. If you want all the teams to finish 6-6....then that is idiotic...for teams to win enough to get to the playoffs you will ALWAYS have a bottom tier set of teams...do you get now ??????

Expand into NORTH Carolina and Virginia. Then go to the 4 pods would be so good for the conference and football in general. The other conference's would follow suit in short order.

After Mizzou leaves in the next Big 10 expansion, South Carolina will be dealt to the ACC, giving the ACC total control of N and S Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia (after big 12 folds). Maybe the SEC then stays at 12, but they may go after OU and OSU. They lose media markets but gain bowl payouts.

This is VERY easy!! All that has to happen is for the P5 conferences to get to 16 teams each.
Each conference has 4 pods of 4 teams with the top team making a conference tournament. those 16 teams make the playoff and the top 4 non-power 5 teams compete for a spot.
SEC - 4
B10 - 4
B12 - 4
PAC12 - 4
ACC - 4
NON P5 - 4
Each conference has a 2 game tournament to determine the conference winner and the survivors advance. Started with 24 teams with a chance and you end up with a 6 team tournament. The last 2 teams would only play 2 extra games they don't already play now. This ends all speculation, all human emotion. Win on the field, win your pod, a team that does not win its conference cannot win the national title. The smaller schools have a chance but they have to play a schedule that gets them into the top 4 of the nonpower 5 teams.

It's not stupid, ESPN controls the SEC and ACC. They will want regional control of the conferences. It's nothing personal its about money.
They make more money if the state of South Carolina is under control of 1 conference instead of 2.

Can't, ESPN is not going to let the SEC weaken the ACC. They just launched the damn network.
