Texas is why we're here.

Adding Texas to your conference is like welcoming sleeper cell Taliban into your country via immigration.

Mizz-SEC is spot on! Texas is real reason A&M, Mizzou, and probably Arky are here. There is a reason why all the Big 12 save Tx gives the upside down horns hand signal.

Not to get too far off topic but I felt the Big XII should have contracted to an 8 team conference with ND being one of the 8. That would appeal to ND to have 5 open dates a year to maintain national presence and would have gotten rid of some of the garbage in the conference. While Texas sucks, the real problem was too many programs with no business being in a major conference had no choice to suck the t-sips D to maintain relevance. That isolated the programs below Texas but still with enough clout they didn’t have to put up with their BS (Colorado, Nebraska, Mizzou and A&M). Okie would also leave but they have okie lite leaching to them, which no other conference will take.

I'd prefer to contract. Get back to 10 teams.

I prefer a 10-team round robin like the big 12. Drop Missouri, SC and the two Mississippi teams.

There is nothing wrong with 12. Nothing wrong with 14. CCG sorts it all out.

If I have the preference, we keep the 12 from prior to 2012. But I dont mind keeping the teams as is.

No need. No reason to expand. No team added would make the conference better. Why share the benefits with smaller pieces of the pie?

It would have to be a shuffle. 14 teams is already a lot.

Definitely want to keep Aggies around. Easy win for us.

Exactly.

I think the 16 team conference using the pod system makes the most sense. And it's not from a standpoint of traditions, just money and scheduling. However, those two team won't be from the ACC because ESPN would just be poaching itself. The pod system allows you to switch the divisions (matching 2 pods against each other) up to make playing all the teams easier.

I think, unfortunately, that the Big 12 is the league to get carved up giving us schools from the west not the east. Honestly though it should be the Pac12 who gets absorbed, but the logistics of the country make them almost untouchable from a size standpoint.

As Spurrier once so famously said, "When you win the SEC you ARE the national champions." But never-the-less, we could go the NFL route by adding one team, split into three 5-team divisions. Then have our own playoff with three division champions and a wildcard. Top two division winners will host the first round and the championship in Atlanta. Heck, half of the NFL is from the SEC anyway, so why not?

The Big 12 was the first to think of the super conference, but they dropped the ball on a network deal. They needed Texas but couldn't keep them in check. OU was patient, but their brand is so strong everyone had to kiss their arse.

If the Big 12 could have gotten that TV deal years ago, maybe their is enough money to make Texas a team player and maybe ESPN doesn't offer the Longhorn Network.

These issues are long gone now with ESPN now in control. The Big 10 has been smart geographically, so ESPN will have a firmer hand in conference expansion. No one does shite unless ESPN gives the ok.
