It’s gone from “they’re voting Thursday” to “they’re discussing it Thursday”.

That tells you everything there

The SEC wants federal courts to give them the authority to kick schools if they want. Once they get that, they can effectively become their own enforcement organization without the NCAA

Or y’all backed down and got in line. If the SEC has federal authority to kick teams out, all Sankey has to do is say “this is your one warning. Do it again and you’re fricked”.

No court can save your asses at that point. The mental gymnastics y’all are going through to claim victory when you didn’t get what you want is hilarious

Good point. We call that power hungry without responsibility.

Wanting to be able to enforce your own rules and punish members for violating them or conspiring to violate them is “power hungry” now

Did everyone completely miss when they/he said they had no intention of breaking any SEC laws? Hell that's been 10 days or so now. And then they went out and in fact didn't break any SEC laws. They have been in line the entire time.

Get your comments in now, because in 10 days your football program is going to be completely embarrassed at home.

Lane is a narcissist …..

Too immature to make important decisions

LSU needs to protect him from himself …

Yeah they were saying that while also working with players to file lawsuits that would block the SEC from punishing them. So when they were “forced” to break SEC rules they could say “WeLl We CaNt IgNoRe CoUrT oRdErS!!”

They were incredibly stupid in thinking the SEC and the other institutions wouldn’t call out the bullshite

Anyone who just assumes the SEC is going to win this lawsuit isn’t paying very close attention.

That doesn’t just apply to LSU

And Sankey’s days are numbered

LSU was enjoined in that lawsuit with the SEC and NCAA (I’m guessing many here don’t realize that).

What you’re suggesting they did is actually illegal.

Wanting to pick and choose what rules we punish members for as well as threatening to punish members for not breaking rules is "power hungry". We are learning now this was pushed by Tenn President. Makes sense. It's all a ploy to go after Kiffin in any way they can. But be careful what you wish for. If we set a precedent that member schools can be kicked out because somebody said something the SEC didn't like then we are wading into dangerous waters. Yall just enjoy this little distraction from the fact that Lane is coming to dominate in your HS stadium in a few weeks.

That's what y'all are saying about playing an ineligible player at QB because your Mississippi judge pushed off his court date until after the season and gave him a TRO so he could play this season. Amirite?

And you see zero issue with this?!? That puts any member school, now or in the future, at the mercy of the conference powers. Sets a massively dangerous precedent that could result in ANY school getting booted just because they feel like it.

LSU has put itself in a situation where at least a significant number of the other members do not trust them. There wouldn't be a type of public conflict if there was goodwill and a belief that all parties are trustworthy. Instead whatever arguments there are would be ironed out behind the scenes.

I wish LSU well and hope the entire conference can climb off the ledge. This looks to be another exciting season and it's a shame this legal wrangling has taken focus over play on the field, especially when LSU looks a real contender.

Holy shite no… the amount of yall who don’t understand the pathetic federal lawsuit.

There’s no blanket “federal” right to terminate a business relationship without being subject to potential damages. Nothing in the SEC’s suit would “grant” them any authority they don’t already have. It’s a pr stunt to manipulate the masses and grab headlines, and it’s working.
