Emory Jones (4.67) is slower than Bo Nix (4.60). I don't say that in a bad way, because Bo Nix is athletic and has good wheels, but Jones is much more in the "pretty athletic and quick" category than the "holy shite you can't catch him" category.

And that was also with the officiating crew being unfamiliar with what constitutes a fumble on at least three occasions that would've given the ball back to the Bama offense.

I’m excited to see the guy start, my question, bc we have a similar QB that will be asked to run, how many 300 yard games passing you think Jones can have, or let’s say, 250? Kyle could torch you for 300 every game, I bet Florida will probably make up for it by rush 150-200 a game more often tho, if the let Jones run

This... Even if I assume he's shaved time off the 4.67, I think 4.3 is beyond hyperbole for what he's capable of.

This man won't make it to even mid season if he tries to tuck and run with that small frame

Lol no fricking way.

First of all dan Mullen will probably still do some bullshite qb rotation for no good reason.

Second ufs oline is trash and Emory Jones is going to be running too much.

Third the pass catchers are way not as good.

I’m hoping for a solid 250 passing per game 50 rushing. Which if was healthy all regular season would be 3000, 600 and that would be really good news and even that is probably optimistic.

Emory has a pretty small frame for a 6'2 guy. I worry about him staying healthy if we're running him a lot. IMO we need to use Richardson in short yardage situations.

His recruiting page shows him at 195. has he not gained weight?

He definitely will be a huge key to Florida's year this year, though. If he comes on strong, Florida will be in good shape. If he struggles, it could be a tough year. (Same could be said about Georgia and JT Daniels, fwiw) It will be an interesting year, for sure. I can't wait for it to get there.

A Gator fan said the same thing. Am I missing something? There are RBs that are smaller than him. Edwards-Hellair was smaller than he is.

His recruiting page has him at 6' 1" 195LBS and thta was 3 years ago.

I am thinking chigator is an alter trying to make Florida fans look bad? I mean, Jones might be very good, but I don't think most fans would give him the "sure thing" label like chigator is.

You really can never tell about a guy until he is “the guy”. Uf just has so many question marks this year.

I admittedly don't know a ton about Florida's roster, but I'm a State fan that watched Dan Mullen offenses up close and in person for nine years. He's one of the best in the country at adapting his offensive philosophy to fit his personnel. Case in point, his last couple of teams at State were very run heavy because Fitzgerald was a great runner and a mediocre passer, plus his receivers sucked. At Florida it seems like he has gone with more of a pass first offense due to Franks/Trask being less mobile than most of his QB's at State, plus he's had a ton of talented pass catchers.

Jones seems to be more similar to the QB's Mullen had at State. So I will be curious to see if Florida's offense this year looks more like Dak/Fitz era State than it does any of Dan's first three Florida teams.

Generally speaking, the one thing you won't have to worry about with Mullen is getting production out of his QB. He won 9 games and had a Top 15 finish with freaking Chris Relf.
