Before I give my thoughts I’ll say this: I DO NOT want Earley to fail. I want to see him succeed, he seems like a great guy and extremely likable. I hope he proves all us naysayers wrong.
With him staying, it’s not a massive surprise. I get the idea of keeping him one more year to keep guys like Gavin and Caden and Kiel on board as well as hold the recruiting class together. Not saying I agree with the move but I get it. I fully expect almost all (if not all) assistance to be let go. I’m sure that’s part of what Trev meant when he said changes that need to be made. For better or worse, the Earley Era continues gentlemen

It’s time to stop worrying about this current group of players maybe transferring. Get a good coach in here who can coach and recruit and let him build it. Portal works both ways. Also, those players face-planted on that brick wall against Mizzou, they win that series and we’re still playing baseball

I think we’re a very long ways away from having to worry about that. Considering we haven’t done that in, shoot I couldn’t even remember. It’s not a common theme here

I also think this job search is different than last year given that Trev, if he is looking for a new HC, won’t be starting the day after the very last game of the baseball year. A massive disadvantage we had to face last year

I believe it is. Maybe I’m one of a handful that believe that, but I certainly think it is. We’ve already proven with the right coach we’re an Omaha caliber program (amongst other qualities I would call desirable). Now we have to find the right coach

But I guess you’re right, best Mizzou today and win 2/3 in Athens. You’ll still probably need 2-3 wins in Hoover. Door isn’t completely closed but once again we’ve made it 1000x harder on ourselves

Is baseball the only sport we don’t hold the coach accountable for poor player performance? I see this argument being made all over “he’s not the one striking out” so we’re just never gonna fire another coach again cause he’s not the one actually playing in the game?

I think the baseball team is done for the year and we as fans should put all our energy and effort into supporting the softball team. They’ve earned it, and Trisha ford deserves and extension and a raise

In typical A&M fashion we lose to the worst team (probably ever) in college baseball. It’s legitimately laughable at this point. Now we absolutely have to win one game against UGA. Ridiculous, we, as a fanbase do not demand a culture of winning and therefore our sports programs continue to disappoint. Until winning is a priority over “uniqueness” we will continue to Wallow in mediocrity
