They are grasping at straws and even if they win that lawsuit they lose the court of public opinion and future players
/ coaches.
No top coach would want to go
There knowing this is how they operate, ever.
Barring something coming out that is seriously misconduct (which I doubt there is anything or he would have taken the lump sum offer) lsu is going to lose and have to pay him AND lose the public opinion
/ coaches.

It’s not his salary, but his buyout in case he’s fired. He had a for clause contract with stipulations. His contract read; said employee can be terminated for a serious and legitimate reason, such as violating company policy, committing misconduct, or failing to meet job performance standards despite warnings.
LSU hired a man KNOWING that he had, as head coach, killed a kid on campus. They clearly accepted that behavior as a NOT FOR CAUSE situation. How can they claim FOR CAUSE now for anything less than that?

If only BK was ok with being paid in trout fee-lays and boudin balls.

Just depends how scared he is of the market.
Also depends on if he wants to work again.
Markets go up and markets go down. You want to know what doesn't go down? Guaranteed contracts.

Over the weekend LSU fans became contract lawyers. Yesterday they became financial advisors.
It is interesting to watch.

I'm no financial advisor, it's just basic financial principles. I'm confident betting on a 10% return, especially over 6 years. Especially if that means I can take another position and make more money on top of that.
Maybe Brian Kelly isn't, I have no clue.
Taking the guaranteed payout means his earnings are capped at $54 million for the next 6 years, he could make $70+ if he received a lump sum, invested wisely, and got another job.

Didn't LSU also fire the guy that's the primary fact witness concerning BK's termination?

Anyone else notice the ads that ran during the “maction” game last night? Raising Canes and visit/live in BR commercials ran at every break. Fund raising and damage control. Although I have to admit it was a nice break from the overload of medication ads that usually run.

Which is about 2 percentage points higher than his winning percentage at Notre Dame. So not only did LSU know exactly what level of coach they were getting, he actually outperformed his history at Notre Dame. That dog of an argument ain’t gonna hunt. Wow…the dumbasses running LSU just keep making this easier and easier for BK’s lawyers. Y’all better pay up, before y’all end up losing tens of millions more in legal fees and lawsuits.

No doubt a bunch of drunk boosters sat around in Tiger Stadium in the second half of the Aggie game and said this. They pledged to cover the buyout then sobered up the next day and realized what they did. It’s the only explanation
Pretty much the size of it.

Saban is coming back
They say they have all this money but obviously dont.
They have won every single game against Alabama since 2007 , but the refs made sure they didn’t.
I’m sorry Auburn but LSU has taken your spot as the laughing stock of the SEC .

I love how they say he wasn't officially fired. All while holding press conferences, appointing interim coaches, and generally making an arse of themselves in the press
Yeah, he wasn't "officially" fired.
