I'm confident betting on a 10% return, especially over 6 years.
re: I’m shocked Kelly’s attorney thinks his client didn’t do anything wrong and LSU owes him.

Kelly is suing the Board of Supervisors which is a state agency. That means taxpayers have been on the hook for this buyout all along if the donors didn't step up and they aren't.
quote:Stiffing him on his buyout after losing in court would basically nullify every LSU contract, present and future. No LSU contract would be worth the paper its printed on if there's no way to enforce the terms.
so scone said he's actually suing the state and not louisiana. and the state has 300 million in unpaid lawsuits, so kelly would probably not end up collecting anyting.

Nice going little lying Landry.

Correct. This is an existential crisis for the athletic foundation.
When was the last time LSU owed a $54 MILLION buyout to anybody?
If the TAF had the money available for Kelly's buyout and another coach's salary none of this would be happening. Even Moscona of all people is finally acknowledging these facts today.

Where do you see the TAF being involved with anything in the past couple weeks? Once it became known they don't have the money lined up that's why the Gov got involved. The state is on the hook for that money that's why Kelly is suing the state not the TAF.
re: The TAF should tell Landry to stop the meddling or the state can hire the next the HC.

The TAF has zero say whatsoever now that they can't deliver the buyout money and the state is on the hook for it. If taxpayers pay one cent of that buyout the TAF should be dissolved.
Kelly is suing the state not TAF or LSU. TAF isn't mentioned once. They are irrelevant now and nobody should take them seriously again.

The taxpayers were always involved you all would just never admit it. Kelly sued the state not LSU. The Board of Supervisors is a State agency.
quote:Taxpayers are on the hook for the buyout not any donors or the TAF. Landry is vindicated and 100% correct to blow a gasket when he found out they fired the guy without having the buyout money lined up. THEY STILL DON'T!
It is most certainly Landry making that call. I just recently heard the level of meddling into the athletic program and was shocked.

quote:Read the link. Taxpayers are on the hook for the buyout.
I'm so tired of lsu fans being a bunch of pussies over money that is not even ours or affecting us.
And to take it a step further when the state refuses to pay the judgement like they do all the others that will effectively mean LSU contracts are now worthless.
This is why Landry got pissed to begin with by the way.
quote:Nope just taxpayers. That thing that could never ever happen.
Are TAF and all the big money boosters getting sued too?
quote:Then no LSU contract will be worth the paper its printed on. Literally.
Which means even if he wins he’s not getting a dime. The state apparently has over 300 million in unpaid court damages
quote:It's in LSU's by-laws. Moscona of all people quoted it a couple hours ago in his breakdown of the lawsuit. Since the state is ultimately on the hook for the payout the state has final say in the termination. It's effectively state law since the BOS is a state agency..
The argument that Woodward and four LSU officials didn't have the authority to fire BK is laughable.

To be clear the "Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural And Mechanical College" is an official State agency.

Kelly is suing the state not LSU.

Kelly is suing the State of Louisiana not LSU or the TAF. The taxpayer is in fact ultimately on the hook for these contracts. Hopefully this will at least put an end to that bit of make-believe.
quote:You can't come up with that for the reason a month after you clearly fired him for performance.
If you fail to show up for work, you will be fired 'for cause'. BK may have physically been there, but from the reports, he may as well not even showed up.
