The SEC is a dumpster fire this year and we didn’t even win the west. I’m not sure the above statement is true.

At work & cann't look it up but what is the Vegas line on these games, specifically Wisc./O.State and TCU/Ok? Vegas has not missed too many times with the big games.

If Wisconsin and Oklahoma win, we will be left out--even though OK lost at home to IOWA STATE!

The purpose of the playoff is to determine who the #1 team is and if a candidate for #1 was very recently eliminated as a possible #1, they shouldn't be there.

WTF? This makes absolutely zero sense. This leaves UGA out if they win the SECCG.

Maybe, but their "resume" isn't great, and they have not looked good for much of the year.

Sounds like someone who doesn't watch much football. Alabama has played its second string for a half in most of its games. Only real struggle was against Ms St on the road and the loss on the road to Auburn.

It's been said before but if OU wins (which they very likely will) and Wisconsin wins (tossup IMO) there is no way whatsoever bama gets in.

Bama only gets in with upsets/chaos. Their hopes basically come down to the big10 title game. Teh ACC and SEC champs are locks.

2 sec teams getting in with a weak sec conference

I'm sorry but the SEC isn't weak.

3 teams in the top 6-7.

and 9 of the 16 teams finished at 7-5 or better.

That's great at the top and really good depth.

My bad...didn't realized State, who gave Bama all it could handle, was still hanging on to the top 25 by a thread.

losing to ole miss with a lame duck coach will do it every time. they were legit when bama played them.

As for strength of schedule, an OSU has played 4 teams that were ranked at time of game. OSU is 2-2 in those games. Bama has played 4 teams that were ranked at time of game. Bama is 3-1 in those games.

At that time? You want Bama to have credit for beating a horrible FSU team? Barely beating Mississippi State team that is barely hanging on to the top 25?

Bama, today is 2-1 against their ranked opponents with LSU being their signature win at #17...and their other ranked win will almost certainly not be ranked after their bowl game...leaving Bama with ONE ranked win during the regular season this year. Bama certainly has the better loss though. OSU has wins against #9 Penn State and #19 Michigan State. The only real thing Bama has over OSU is the loss to Iowa. Sorry, but the fact that OSU will be conference champs compared to 2nd in the West will trump the "quality of loss"

So basically the only teams you've played with a pulse.

Bama's only decent win is against LSU. I dont see any possibility where they get in. If Ohio State beats Wisconsin, Ohio State will have the better resume.

It's not right but I do think Bama gets in with an tOSU win. But think of the joy we will get out of watching Bama go 1 for 3 in the CFP.

Well the "at the time" argument is certainly flawed, but so is the "currently ranked" argument. Are you really saying fsu today is the same team bama played? I don't really care about this, mind you. Bama has just appeared "off" as of late and I don't think we would win the playoff anyway.

You're wrong...but not that far off. Beating Fl State was definitely a "decent" win. They may not have been the third best team in the country, but they were a hell of a lot better that day than what they turned out to be later without their QB and after the collapse.

Ohio State will have had more impressive wins, but also much more unimpressive losses - both blowouts, one to a rather mediocre team - AND two losses instead of one. I'm not worried about them getting in ahead of Bama, I'm much more worried about how they beat Wisconsin presumably without JTB.

The SECC winner, the ACC winner, and Oklahoma will all have better resumes and a conference championship, and will deserve to be in over Bama. Wisconsin and/or Oklahoma need to lose, that's the only plausible path I see.

Currently our playoff record 3-2 since we have played in all CFB playoffs and have a NC. If we were to go(doubt it) and got beat in the semis we would have an overall record of 3-3.

clemson doens't factor into this at all. Assuming OU wins (which you've got to think is a safe bet) bama's chances all come down to osu/wisc.

I doubt that. Their best win was against Miss State.

If Ohio State wins it will be us or Ohio State for the 4th spot.

Both of us have warts, just depends which ones the committee decides it cares about more. I don't think either school could be upset if they don't get in.
