He was horrific. Put any other QB in the SEC on Texas and they probably win that game

Maybe he isn't that bad but the play calling sure didn't help him.

Sarkisian didn't open up the playbook until midway through the 4th quarter which was when Manning started throwing downfield.

For three quarters his passing was not moving the chains.

Arch has to play better, but his receivers didn’t help him much. Wingo had several drops and Livingstone dropped a touchdown on 4th and goal.

You expect this kind of over reaction from most people and the media due to how he was built up by ESPN and FOX. On the bright side he has 3 great resources that can help him analyze the film and tell him where he went wrong.

It’s not that he played that poorly, it’s the 30 minutes of hype declaring him a “generational talent” before the game. He needs time and will be above average. That said, from the constant Manning babbling, it sound like Ellen is the better QB.

He was overmatched. Makes me wonder what he has done the last three years.

On the road vs one of the best teams in the nation, who had a chip on their shoulder from winning the NC and seeing their opponent come in ranked #1.

He will be better.

He’s a junior, and has been playing QB basically since he took his first steps. He’s also been surrounded by “coaching” at a level most young QBs pay top dollar for at a week of camp.

The whole, “he needs time,” and, “he was put in an impossible position” mantras we’re hearing is absolutely ridiculous.

A friend of mine (UF Fan) texted me last night that just before the game, Sark took over as OC for the game from Flood. Manning never really worked with Sark so he (or the entire O) wasn't ready for the different plays, different packages etc.

So he blamed Sark for making game-time decision that threw the O out of sync.

That was his take based on watching and re-watching the game and hearing that re: Sark/Flood

DISCLAIMER: I didn't see the game nor really followed the post-game discussions re: Arch than him getting heavily criticized.

His first pass fell 10' short of the intended target who was wide open. Went downhill from there...

Did Sark call a bounce pass on his first attempt?

Looking at the tears streaming down Texas fan's faces, he certainly turned water into whine.

If Sark didn’t address that in the presser then I guess we’ll never know…

Again…how much more time does he need?

He’s been coached his entire life by not only 3 HoF NFL QBs, but the best QB coaching his wealthy family could buy. His family also operates what is considered the premier QB camp in the nation.

He’s been with Sark for 2 1/2 years. He’s NOT a freshman. Far from it.

As has been pointed out, this was not his first start. It also wasn’t the first time he has faced a defense with a pulse and folded….did no one watch his complete collapse against UGA?

The truth is, you could see from the start he wasn’t what he was hyped up to be and Day knew this and called his game accordingly as he also was starting a new QB in Sayin. And Manning had WRs running open on many occasions but when you throw into double coverage while Worley is standing by himself in front of the goal line, throw the balls at your receiver’s feet, stare them down so the DBs know EXACTLY where the ball is going, or throw balls 10 feet over your WRs heads….that’s not good QB play especially for a QB with his training.

And yes…the Horns will stick with him because they have no one else since they put all their money on the last name of Manning. They really have no choice at this point.

He made some good throws, reads were solid, physicals are there, but the mechanics fell apart and was strange to watch. He was obviously not ready for that environment and looked panicked/stopped trusting the fundamentals. Way too many sidearm/off balance deliveries and not stepping into throws.

The arm strength is there, people questioning it are looking at throws where Arch didn't drive the ball and it fluttered. Patricia's scheme is A++ and frankly beyond what anyone else is doing at the college level. Ohio State is vulnerable against the run, but good luck beating that secondary

His performance was that of any average starting D1 QB against a team like tOSU. Far from the hype that was built up. Given the talent level on his team is far beyond the average D1 team, his performance should be cause for concern imho. Will he be terrible? Doubtful. Will he be winning the Heisman? No. He will be an average to above average QB surrounded by elite talent making him look better than he is.

It was Anthony Richardson vs Kentucky bad.

Edit:

Bad footwork.
Bad throwing motion - sidearm on every throw??
Staring down his WR and throwing late on the INT.

Bad mechanics, happy feet, missing open receivers all game. It was not like it was a couple of plays.

I see why he could not beat out Ewers. I thought he might be average because of that.

As many are now saying, if he had another last name, he might get replaced. But my guess is Sark will not be able to do that one.

If the Gators beat them. That red River game is going to be an elimination game for them bc they are not beating Georgia.
