I don't know? That's what the actual AJC was reporting.

So in other words, the AJC is reporting:

quote:

It was literally confirmed that Chaney asked Georgia to match Tennessee’s offer and they declined.

Sounds like Georgia couldn't match financially.

Show me in the article where they said that? Sounds like your ill informed opinion to me.

They were hoping for a melt. Oh well, glad they’re happy with the hire but they’re not getting a melt over Chaney.

I get that you don't like it, but the AJC is basically always the first to report on any official news out of UGA. Nothing they've said in regards to Chaney is difficult to believe.

Yeah we are arguing about 2 different things. I am off topic.

I don’t think Kirby was actively looking to replace him, but also wasn’t willing to match what Pruitt was going to pay him because he thought it would be better spent elsewhere. This will allow him to pay McGee and Pittman a lot more and bring in a good recruiter at TE coach, like John Lily or Todd Hartley.

I think Georgia will be better off here, but I have to admit he seemed to do a great job for you.

He did. No question.

The cupboard is stocked chock full of offensive talent including RBs and OLs for days. The next guy will certainly have some nice toys to play with.

I liked him and thought he did a very solid job. I hate to see him go from the standpoint, that now we have to replace two coordinators, and I like staff stability when feasible. I do think we could be better off depending on who we get.

Did Tennessee really want him back after the last time he was there? Tenner doesn’t have the offensive weapons to work with he had at Georgia. Best of luck

He did a good job, just couldn't adjust his game plan to match what the defense was doing. He seemed to be stuck in 80's. He never utilized the great TE's we had. They can be huge weapons when the defense is shutting down certain aspects of your plan.

We had our best offense in the last 30 years under Cheney

avg 36 ppg in 2012

We have pretty good skill position talent already but that is masked up by our O-line woes. However, we have goons on the way (best OL recruiting class in the country)

Not expecting too much in 2019, but 2-3 years down the road...oh baby

I thought he did a pretty good job for us as well. UT definitely could have done worse.
