I've read that VOLS initial offer was matched by UGA and possibly cushioned with a little bit extra $$. VOLS recountered to 1.5-1.6M per year and UGA wasn't willing to match.

Ignore the trolls

No one likes the AJC.
They click bait and race bait with the best in the country.

But they are the only paper in the largest state east of the mississippi. To deny them as a source is poor trolling. Do better.

We get it, you think the source is reporting false information. You should just say that, and post that cute little laughing emoji again.

Some did and some didn't.

Personally I thought he was pretty decent but he is hardly irreplaceable.

This is probably closest to the truth. Nobody will ever know the nuts and bolts of anything that goes on, but this seems reasonable.

They didn't want him gone, but also weren't going to fight to overpay him. Facts are he's a solid OC that has the respect of other professionals in the field. With that being said, he's not worth top tier dollars, and can be replaced. Pittman, on the other hand, is a stud, and was worth keeping.

I canceled my subscription 20-25 years ago, honestly. The only thing I read in it was the sports page and the comics.

I am speaking in general, not about whatever this topic is. They are definitely not legit. Maybe they got this one right, but they put out garbage all the time and have zero credibility.

Sounds like Georgia couldn't match financially.

Then why pay Pittman the highest salary ever for an OL coach?

Tennessee’s offer, however, grew too rich for Smart to match without disrupting his offensive staff’s financial harmony.

You got links for that?
It wouldn't be hard to copy/paste a link to support your well informed statements.

As you said... they do it all the time (like 'em or dislike 'em... they are journalists. They source stories 3 times before releasing it online as am article).

I get that you don't like it, but the AJC is basically always the first to report on any official news out of UGA. Nothing they've said in regards to Chaney is difficult to believe.
