or are they trying to make themselves feel better about Germy Proot poaching one of the better OC’s in the conference?

It was literally confirmed that Chaney asked Georgia to match Tennessee’s offer and they declined.

Who said UGA wanted Chaney gone? If UGA wanted him gone, he would have been been fired.

But, if you poached one of the better OCs in the conference, why was he Pruitt's 4th or 5th choice?

It looks like a source to me. I didn't pull it out of thin air.

I didn't. I was happy with him, but admittedly, and honestly, I was probably in the minority. I liked him, and thought he did a very solid job.

That said, when we hired him Tennessee and Arkansas fans overwhelmingly laughed at us and ridiculed us for hiring him. That is a fact.

Chaney is a solid OC but I don't think we would have ever taken our offense to the next level with Chaney as our OC. On way too many occasions last season, our offense was stymied at the goal line with goal line stands. Chaney's offense lacks innovation and his play calling is often predictable.

Do you know what a source is? I mean, seriously. It may not be a great source, but it certainly is a source.

We are dealing with another person who cannot read but likes to use the laughing emoji to cover up ignorance.

I’m indifferent on Chaney, honestly. He was a serviceable OC but we can do better. The main thing is, Pittman is staying, and that’s good news. It all starts in the trenches.

So Chaney helps run off the 5-star #1 QB by not scheming or developing him, then takes a fat sack of cash to keep the UT offense in the shitter with 20 yard out routes on 3rd and 2? I'd say he's auditioning for an honorary degree from UF.
