Not a VOL.

I think Fulmer's legacy is intact. He was an excellent player and coach on Rocky Top. He is about as Tennessee as it gets.

It is true Pruitt was a stinker of a coach and hampered the program tremendously. However, I believe Fulmer hired Vitello and Heuphel, so he has to get credit for that.

Not really. The hire, in my opinion, was to weaken Alabama. Pruitt was the perfect fit to replace Kirby and in fact, Alabama's defense in 2016 was the best it had ever been. Phil knew from the beginning that Pruitt was just a fall guy if things got bad, and he'd take all the credit if things had worked out. Pruitt, despite being warned not to, still took the job and the snake bit him like we all knew it would

In the short term it certainly did, but with the program being where it is now it’s not still hanging over his head for a majority of the fan base.

No, not in any serious, lasting way anyways.

I thought Heupel was hired by Danny White (who was his AD at UCF)

He hired neither. John Currie hired Vitello and Danny White hired Heupel.

Ah. I understand. But his legacy on Rocky Top is intact nevertheless.

Fulmer ruined fulmers legacy by what he did to get the job.

Nah. Thanks for the championship and all, but the end of his tenure was rough and what good feelings I had for him went away by his inept he was at being AD.

This is akin to asking if Joe Biden ruined Kamala Harris's legacy.

Too much orange-on-orange crime. Fat Boy stabbed the beloved Johnny Majors in the back while he was down and took his job. Then he stabbed the AD in the back to get his job and that led to his ascension to AD and the infamous Jeremy Pruitt hire. Karma has to be a thing.

All in all, the orange faithful talk about these disgusting acts of betrayal far more than any of us.

No. It’s pretty damn impossible to ruin the legacy of a National Title, beating Georgia 8 times in a row and beating Bama 7 times in a row.

Not in the long run. He still want a national championship and had several SEC championships. He’s good.
