Did LSU really sell 10% of their football revenue forever for 100 million? Why?

Is this true? If it is, why did yall do it? I can't imagine that it's a good deal.

Yes. The governor also plans to coach the team this year. Kiffin is pissed and already making plans to go back to Ole Miss.

From the available information, it’s an LLC to be comprised of LSU’s own donors and patrons. It’s about managing investments in new revenue streams. No deal has even been signed and it requires more research with tax attorneys, etc.

As lsu fans do gymnastics explaining why Pete is actually a terrible coach and had nothing to do with Ole Miss playoff success.

Pete Golding had as much to do with Ole Miss’s playoff success as Frank Wilson had to do with the rest of LSU’s collapse when he took over last year.
Both teams were already established in their success and failure by the time the coaching changes occurred.

Between revenue share and the umpteen number of sports a major U has the once profitable programs are seeing the profit from that revenue drop significantly.
This is not private equity Gordon Gekko style but big boosters forming a collaborative for an immediate cash infusion. Details have not been finalized by any stretch of the imagination. You will see more things come up as revenue share starts eating more of the AD pie.

Nothing has been finalized yet. There is going to be a valuation of the program. The plan is to take the 100 million plus a percentage of the 72 million a year SEc money per year to invest. Use the gains to fund a portion of NIL. The donor base for most schools are going to get fatigued at some point. LSU is trying to get ahead of that problem.

Anyone could have beat Tulane
He did UGA but that was Triidad Chamblis going god mode at the end of the game. That was not a very good uga team by uga standards.
