It is not a playoff if only 2 teams technically.

He's a big name because of Penix and the springboard he gave KD to bama.
Penix sucks. DeBoer turned him into a useful QB long enough to fool the Falcons into drafting him in the top 10.

That is putting it lightly.
In his very first game against LSU as Alabama’s coach Deboer beat LSU by more points than LSU has ever beaten Alabama. Deboer has a larger margin of victory in the Alabama/LSU series than any LSU coach in history.
When Saban retired LSU fans thought it was finally their time. But damned if Kelly didn’t fare worse against Deboer than he did Saban.
LSU fans love to chirp about Alabama not being able to run the ball. But that game in 2024 they had to watch Alabama run it down their throats to the tune of 311 rushing yards. Or at least they watched until halftime. Then Tiger Stadium emptied out like an evacuation had been ordered.
The cherry on top is that Alabama has so broken them they just spent $130 million on a new coach - who has never beaten Alabama. Watching it all play out has been like watching a Monty Python movie.

His job is not going to get easier, OM, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Georgia are all going to have some good football teams and Tennessee could also.
