Perhaps you would like to compare the head to head record in championship and playoff games. It sounds like you would like to compare them. Do you think it will look good for Georgia?

Or perhaps celebrating the only two games Georgia has won, while ignoring all the losses, is a moral victory.

This is basically the Bama defense of DeBoer.

"No, we don't care that he lost 8 games in two seasons, he beat LSU, Auburn, and Georgia. Don't worry about all of the blowouts and unranked losses."

I'm still shocked that they gave him a raise and extension after losing four games.

Reminds me of Auburn giving Gus that horrific extension in 2017 before the SEC Championship and we ended up losing 4 games.

At least Auburn hadn’t already lost 4 games when he got the extension.

Now Auburn fans call 4 losses September.

Auburn hasn’t had less than 7 losses in a season since they fired Gus. Gus never had 7 losses in a season at Auburn.

Auburn not only should have extended Gus, they should have honored it as well.

He's not Saban, not one is. But, he did go 101 vs a good Georgia team, made the SEC title game in year 2, made the second round of the playoffs in year 2, lost to the national champs. I mean it's not like it was a horrible season at all. Much to build on.

But if you judge him by Saban then he will always come up lacking, all coaches would.

See how irritating moral victories can seem now?

The Bama fans are bragging about Deboer being 2-1 against Georgia. As in 2 actual wins decided on the field. That is the exact opposite of a moral victory, that's a victory in the actual literal sense.

Actually I am bragging about Alabama being 10-2 against Georgia over their last dozen meetings.

Yeah, I get it. Beating Georgia is the biggest thing that Bama fans have to cling onto these days. It's pretty fricking flattering if you're a Georgia fan.

If my coach had a 7-7 record away from home in his first two seasons, I'd be looking for some comfort somewhere too.

DeBoer's done well against top 25 teams but, yeah, he's had some absolute bed-shitting moments on the road. He's the reason we've had to deal with that bigheaded hispanic midget for the last two years. Pavia would've probably been working at a car dealership in Albuquerque for a year now if he didn't win that game v. Alabama in 2024. That's really unforgivable work DeBoer did on behalf of the whole country.

It doesn't irritate me at all. We haven't had the opportunity of playing in the first week of the playoff for a reason. As I said, if DeBoer had done what Kirby has done the last two seasons, none of your fans would be complaining about his contract extension.

The last time Alabama finished a season ranked ahead of Georgia in the polls was 2020.

DeBoer has 8 losses in 2 years. I know a bunch of Gumps and it pisses them off. Bama fans are generally smart AF about Football ...they get it...

If he loses 4 again this year, the heat will be intense.

Gumps know the truth...they just won't share it with outsiders...

Losing by 21 and 35 sounds bad but it’s misleading, the losses were only by 3 and 5 scores.

Isn't this thread about DeBoer? I mean, sure Alabama has done very well against Georgia, there is no doubt.

However, there also isn't any doubt that Georgia has beaten Alabama in the last SEC Championship game and Georgia has won two...TWO National Championships in football since Alabama's last one.

But, yeah, Your coach is thrilled with his last 4 loss season.

Going 0-2 in the playoffs would have absolutely upset a lot of Alabama fans. Some Alabama fans complained about Saban when he was at his peak. Usually it wasn’t even about not winning, but they complained about how they were winning. Then every time Saban would lose a game some Alabama fans would crawl out from under their rocks and claim it was time for a coaching change.

Before FunnyMaine destroyed his career with BLM, he made “run da bawl” a thing. Merch and everything.

You underestimate Alabama fans’ ability to complain.

So they'd have been mad about losing in the second round in consecutive years but they'll defend a coach who didn't even make it the first year and then still lost in the second round in the next year?

Does the first round victory really make that much difference to Bama fans?

Yes, according to Dalt, getting that one playoff victory without a first round bye and getting your arse wiped in the SECCG and second round (not to mention not even making it the first year) is far superior to two SECChampionships, six more wins and three less losses.
