All kickers miss important kicks at some point!
Wasn’t his fault! He was iced by our own coach!! It’s 1 game a close game it’s the SEC no one is going undefeated this year.

That wasn't the only play of the game. Lots of plays could have happened or not happened to put a kicker in a place to have to try and win with a FG. That's what alot of people don't understand about a game...and when it comes to crucifying a kicker when he misses a game winner.
ie; start by crucifying the OLineman that had a critical penalty the play before that backed him up another 5 yards. Just one example...

That was on your coach for running another play and the Guard costing the team an extra 5yards. Guaranteed from 52 that should be 8/10 but running the extra play was DUMB!

Maybe you should cut the OL that jumped 1st. Or maybe all the Defense that blew a 14 point lead and an 8 point lead. Just saying!!

You essentially beat them. True you need the FG to actually win but the entire team except one player played well enough to beat them. You’ll probably see them again the way the rest of the conference is playing too. UT deserved that win.

Seriously from a logical point of view UT fans had the best experience they could’ve imagined with the exception losing…..everything else was well nigh perfect for 3+ hours…got out to a big lead, watched a good opponent scratch back and take the lead…then swapping the lead back and forth and having a shot to win in regulation. What more could you want? It’s like catching a big fish that you were going to release and it gets off right at the boat. You got all you came for but one little thing….

If so it won’t be in Knoxville most likely…probably Atlanta. The game was a draw in Knoxville but Kneeland is good for at least a FG if not a TD. Neutral site or Athens in a playoff game, somehow, UGA wins by 7 in regulation.

I blame Heupel more than Gilbert. After the strip sack up 35-30, he chose to play turtle and take a FG to go up 8 instead of staying aggressive and putting the game away with a TD.

Don’t hate on the kicker…kid looked like he was 14 and I actually felt bad for him (not too bad though).
It took several key miracle plays for us to win….just like that Hail Mary TN got in 2016.
