And now paying Big 10 $300M for those 18 and only paid the SEC $55M for 26 games. They were getting a steal for those TV ratings from the SEC.
That’s the biggest head scratcher as to why they didn’t try harder to make a deal. You know they are bleeding money right now.

Don't know a good thing when you have it

No, the biggest head scratcher is why they refused to give the SEC $300 million and instead did a deal with the Big Ten for $350 million. They way over paid for a terrible product.

Yes they did lose viewership but they gained advertising partners because of the broad reach of the B1G compared to the Regionality of the SEC.
I guess that could make sense. 7M -10M viewers watching Alabama 5 times a year is mostly the same set of eyes. 3M in Michigan, then 3M in California and/or Oregon the next week are mostly different sets of eyes.

Maybe the viewers think "I could be watching the NEXT NCAA champion this week on CBS..."

I agree with the three game line up. It really helps to have wall to wall SEC.
But CBS had better production quality
I miss CBS & the only thing better about ESPN coverage is the primetime slot being later.
Other than that, downgraded across the board. CBS definitely the biggest loser either way.

Those of the kinds of decisions that can really hurt a network financially.
