CBS is now getting 2nd or 3rd tier Big 10 games instead of the marquee SEC matchup. In 2023 CBS was averaging 6.73M viewers per game. In 2025 it was 3.71M.

They also lost the SEC Championship Game, which was over 17M viewers in 2023. And they had 26 SEC games a year vs only 18 for Big 10.

And now paying Big 10 $300M for those 18 and only paid the SEC $55M for 26 games. They were getting a steal for those TV ratings from the SEC.

I don’t care about the time slot but it pisses me off the big 10 is playing an entire slate of nobodies this weekend and Sankey has the SEC going to war and we won’t get any reward for it.

LSU has to go to Oxford this weekend and then gets A&M

Ole Miss plays LSU and then gets UF.

FIFY because the B1G's going to make more $ off Rutger-USC this weekend than we are Kifiin's return to Oxford.

CBS is laughing all the way to the bank...they have more sponsors and partners for B1G games then they ever would have for the regional SEC.

Why do you think ESPN is starting to come around to the 24-team playoff??? More Revenue because they aren't cashing in like they did before the exclusive SEC on ABC.

You're bitching because a 9-game conference schedule gives you more high quality games to watch??? Think about what you just wrote.

I ran your post through AI and it claimed that your post was not based on truth and that you are making unverifiable claims. So there's that.

ESPN is bad with commercials but at least they don't have the full 6 minute commercial breaks like CBS does. And this makes sense because CBS never had to get out of the way of the next game, so they are able to milk every game for the maximum amount of commercials. I don't miss CBS at all. Plus, CBS would do that crap where they would do a commercial break, return to the game for a kick, then go back to another commercial break. It ruined the momentum in a lot of games.

LOL...AI is the ultimate truth-teller.

I bet you think you have a chance tomorrow also because of AI.

I hate AI but it is good at parsing through a lot of data from different sources to verify a claim. Your claim was baseless.

I doubt it. They lost lots of viewership.

No - I’m bitching that the SEC is playing a significantly more challenging schedule across the board with no assurances from the playoff committee any of the teams will be rewarded for doing so.

Go compare the Indiana schedule to the contenders from the SEC and tell me who is going to sleepwalk to the postseason.

Yes they did lose viewership but they gained advertising partners because of the broad reach of the B1G compared to the Regionality of the SEC.

No shite. The Big Ten's lineup this weekend may be the worst conference lineup in history.

Advertisers pay based on viewership and the B1G's viewership is less than half of the SEC's viewership. It's all based on the number of eyeballs. Plus, if you go to a sports bar anywhere in the country, almost all of them are going to run Fox and ESPN all day and the odd one will switch on CBS.

I love the ABC three game lineup every week.

Throw on ABC at 11 and just have it on in the background all day.

Same, I was a little disappointed when CBS was announced to not be renewing.

But I have been absolutely fricking thrilled with ABC and the 3 game lineup.

I guess If more teams played big 10 schedules they would be national champs too. Kudos to the lil 10.
