Not at all. In 2010 when UA was coming off a NC our defense made Garcia look like the top pick in the draft and we heard the same thing.

The other issue is play like that after beating UGA the week prior as the underdog hosting the game. But I guess the lost to Vandy also really exposed UGA as well as being a pretender.

Why not?

Howard Schnellenberger won a natty at Miami in 1983

Jimmy Johnson followed him and won a natty in 1987

Dennis Erickson followed him and won two natties, 1989 and 1991

Butch Davis followed him and took them to #2 before he got an NFL head coaching job

Larry Coker followed him and cashed in on Butch, with a natty in 2001 and #2 finish in 2002

Agree with him 100%.

I am glad he's mad though. Channel that anger properly.

Good on Damien Harris for calling it correctly.

DeBoer isn't the greatest of all time, but he is a great coach

Not even close - he's not even coaching this team anymore.

He had a player on the field, on national TV tell him and his DC to frick off, I'm not coming out of the game, and he turned around like a pussy and went back to whatever it was he was doing.

Malachi Moore is running this team. He is the new DC, the new HC, when the players want to know what to do they will ask Malachi from now on because he is the one calling the shots. When the guy to replace Moore came onto the field, Moore was the one who told him to go back to the sideline, and guess who the player took his orders from? Moore.

That is just a stupid take and exactly what I was talking about. There are lots of examples of players and coaches as well as players themselves getting sideways during a game. It’s happened with Saban. It’s happened with Andy Reid. It happens regularly.

But you want it to mean much more than it does. You want it to mean the destruction of Alabama football. It doesn’t.

Impossible to be the goat part 2? Sure.

Impossible to expect to win at a high level and not get embarrassed by Vandy? Nahhhhh

you go back and look at the preseason record predictions, the vast majority of Alabama fans predicted that Alabama would go 9-3 or 10-2. Over 75% of them predicted this record.

And if you go back 2 weeks ago you had Bama fans fluffing one another over “not missing a beat”

Anyone who knows Bama football under Saban knows Damien Harris was a model student athlete. You knew he was heading for a career in media while he was playing. With that said, it's damning what he's saying about KD early into his tenure at Bama. I'll also say I think KD needs to spend top dollar and give full defensive autonomy to his next defensive hire b/c Wommack isn't cut out at this level to be a DC.

Everyone on this place seems to make emotional, kneejerk overreactions.

A team punts? Fire the OC!!! A player misses a tackle? Fire the DC!!! A team loses? Fire the head coach!!! A team wins? We are the best team ever!!!

The preseason predictions were actually much more logical and thought out, from all fans. They were made before they fell into the trap of overreacting every. single. week.

Alabama fans expected Alabama to slip back a little this season. Those preseason predictions can’t be explained away even if you want to.

Dude DeBoer has a loaded team that just lost to Vanderbilt.

Saban saw the writing on the wall with NIL and SEC expansion.

Bama could have easily lost to Auburn last year but was saved by a 4th and 33 yard last ditch effort.

I don't see a dramatic Alabama drop off with DeBoer but with the expansion it is now going to be even harder to go undefeated during the regular season.

Yeah but all the players like playing for the more chill Deboer.

Worse than how he slammed Pavia in the ground and kicked the football, but essentially telling Womack to get off the field and Deboer after waving off his replacement. Pure lack of respect for his coaches and team, but Deboer is building that with his style.

No doubt Deboer is a good coach but his laid back style gets repaid by national television disrespect. All that talent will win games, but when things are not going your way and your captain acts like that?

Bad take. Saban saw the writing on the wall when he was regulated to hiring coordinators like Steele and Tommy Rees instead of elite coordinators like he was able to do in the past. Elite coordinators wanted guarantees that Saban would remain at Bama X number of years and Saban could no longer give those guys those guarantees. Saban has said this.

Damien Harris himself has said in interviews how much different the NFL was than college. He himself has said the dynamic between coaches and players in the NFL is different than in college. But he played pre-transfer portal and pre-NIL.

I don’t think he understands or appreciates how much things have changed. I would love it if the players handled this like he said he and his teammates would have. But they won’t. They won’t this season under Deboer. They didn’t last season under Saban.

I don’t think Harris has fully grasped yet that college football has become worse than the NFL in terms of player/coach dynamics. Now days, the player in college has more power than the coach. And the players are more worried about their checks than their team.

There is a reason that Saban retired when he did. All coaches are still trying to adjust to this new landscape.

We will learn more about Deboer AND Wommack after this upcoming weekend.
