I don't care about 120 pound people who can run a long time. They are already a part of the Track & Field team. It's like having a long distance swim team in addition to the swim team. Silly nonsense.

This thread is not intended for any school in particular.

Arkansas, you better get ready for a challenge from LSU in those running sports. Tigas getting good at running.

I mean....it's not something I would get excited to watch, but it's a hell of an athletic feat to do that competitively.

I obviously used a wider net than I needed. I forgot about all the joggers who might wrongly take offense.

LSU is, in all honesty, the gold standard when it comes to women's track. They fell on some hard times and have been rebuilding the program back to where it should be.

Oddly enough Arkansas is the gold standard for men's track and we've also fallen on hard times. We just haven't re-entered the rebuilding stage yet.

Lance Harter, the women's coach here at Arkansas for track, is a super lifer. I think this is either his 31st or 32nd year as head coach of the program and he spent decades in the "always the bridesmaid never the bride" spot. To see him having success and winning national titles is great.

Because what we do sure as shite isn't jogging.

I was impressed with the running culture in and around Fayetteville. The Greenway going through the middle of town was great and I ran it every day I was there.

This is correct. This activity is for those people who are too slow to actually win a race which requires speed.

Rather, they run around a golf course slowly and whomever gets the least tired wins.

So it doesn't take significant training and athletic ability to run long distance?

Ok.

Option A: marathon running is not a real sport because there are already speed events on an oval; the Tour de France is not a real sport because there are bike speed events on an oval; winter Olympic x-country skiing, summer decathlon and pentathlon, triathlon, ... etc...

Or option B: ...op is a tubby couch potato ...

Answer: “B”

My dad went to college at U of Arkansas and said he ran 5-10 miles a day
