Whatever dude. He made a play that kept us in it in a way few plays would.
Mark Ingram practically never fumbled the ball. Carter basically ended a scoring drive by bashing the ball out of that guys hands and kept us in it long enough for our offense to recover.
We can argue the definition of dominant but he single-handedly made a play that kept us in the national title race.

Auburn had other things going for them also. Good defense and a solid Oline. Cam gave them that little extra that put them over the top. Games like LSU and Bama are where he really shined.

As good as Cam was running in the open field, what made Tebow and Cam so good in college was their ability on 3rd and 4th and short. Whether it be goal line or anywhere else. They were almost unstoppable due to their size, strength, and speed in picking up 1st downs, extending drives, etc. What their short down running ability did, was open up one more player to block or be a receiver and change up the defensive scheme.

Yeah, Cam on short down situations was a beast. His 6'6" frame alone could get a majority of the first downs on QB sneaks.

Tebow had insane talent around him. When he came back for his senior year, he brought back other senior talent that normally would have been long gone to the NFL. Leadership was Tebow's superpower.
But Newton was much more physically gifted and didn't have nearly as much talent around him. I always thought that Tebow was an average thrower, and Newton was much better than people gave him credit for.
If I had one season to prove it, and a decent team and dam strong coaching around him, I'd give Newton a big edge to do more with less.

Cam would probably fit well with any team.
I don’t think Tebow could.
Imo, his skills were able to synergize nicely with elite talent around him. But I think his game would suffer greatly without that talent around him.

The AU defense made lots of big plays at critical times in 2010, but I don’t agree that it was a “good” defense. Arky State scored 26 against that defense, South Carolina 27, Kentucky 34, Arkansas 43, Ole Miss 31, UGA 31, and Bama 27.

It would be interesting to see what Cam could have accomplished with 3 full Division I seasons.
