There’s an entire book on the 1960 Missouri Football team. They went 11-0, won the Big 8, and beat a Top 5 Navy squad in the Orange Bowl.

They probably have more undefeated seasons without a title than any other program.

Yeah, we weren't undefeated. It's a fabricated championship. I'll pass on buying any commemorative gear .

Auburn, like Mizzou, was very late to this party.
Tennessee claimed the 1938, 1940, 1950, and 1967 titles in 1968... after failing to win any major poll title in '67. They just claimed it themselves and decided to claim 4 others they didn't win while at it.
Alabama invented 6 championships in 1983... claiming championships in 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, and 1941 all more than four decades after the fact.
I don't like that Auburn did this... but we are no different than those programs and others who have been doing it for years.

It was over 65 years ago - so to even really remember this you'd have to be 75 years old or more.
I guess it is a nice acknowledgement to those that were part of it - because they did have as strong a claim as anyone to the championship that year. But I won't be flying any banners or buying the merch.
