No affiliation as in they didn’t attend and are fans.

Or

No affiliation as in not fans. Not there for game day and just normal Baton Rouge activities.

They for sure did not attend the game...A few may be fans, but the majority were there for the party and daily BR shenanigans

It was bad...I live in the Shreveport area and have not been to a game since 2018 or so. Took my young son to his first game last Saturday, and we felt very out of place walking around...never felt like that at LSU before. Then a thug accidentally shoots himself in the leg 10 feet from our tailgate.

Won't be back anytime soon until they get that cleaned up. Hopefully, their new plan works.

Say what you will, but the issue comes from people with no affiliation to LSU.

LSU alum from 43 years ago; fan since I could listen to the radio. For years, I’ve sat through rain, heat, cold, and Curley. I always felt it was a privilege to walk into Tiger Stadium regardless of the record or opponent.

Last Saturday vs SC was the first game I’ve been able to attend thus season, and the first time I have ever left at halftime. The pervasive music/noise, annoying lights, and circus atmosphere was beyond obnoxious and enough to overshadow the game, and drive this Tiger fan out of his beloved stadium.

I don’t know if I’ll be back, but I also realize I’m no longer the target demographic. Very sad.

Ya'll forget that it's not all about the fans...what do you think will pump up the players before a big third down? The band playing "Hey Baby" or the sound system booming and lights flickering...it is what it is. Myself and my young son enjoyed it, that players on the field seemed to enjoy it...no one sitting around us seemed to complain.

Leaving at half because you don't like the music and lights in a close game?! I mean I hear you...my dad would be the same way... But he also complains when someone talks too loudly to him or if a teenager has their music too loud in their car sooooo where does the problem really lie? :dunno:
quote:

Having an obnoxiously loud sound system constantly playing that drowns out band and crowd noise is a great way to discourage fans from bringing their kids

My kid loved it...he did not love the gunshots outside the stadium though
Curious about the average age of the posters in this thread...While I will agree that it is overdone at times, I also noticed the crowd only gets amped up for a 3rd or 4th down if they crank the music up to remind everyone to get loud....half the stadium also left at halftime. It didn't "drown out" the crowd, it got everyone loud, and then when it shut off it was all crowd...Just turn off y'all's hearing aids...you'll be fine.
I'm 35, grew up in Baton Rouge, and was at LSU every weekend with either friends, family, or both. My parents never worried about me because there was no need. It looked completely different 20 years ago.

I live around Shreveport now, and it's been a while since I've been to a game...my 6-year-old son has taken a huge interest in LSU and has been wanting to go to a game badly, so I took him this weekend.

Like everyone here is saying...it's racist to talk about the problem...Everywhere you went...the weed smell was overpowering...I felt like I was the minority walking around...Teens dressed as gang members walk around everywhere, and the girls they are with are competing on who can wear the least amount of clothes. The biggest problem is that these wanna be thugs feel the need to be armed at all times in case they need to "handle" business. I can promise you that over 50% of them have a handgun on them...

So we are at a friend's tailgate right next to the stadium, next to the ROTC building, talking to a couple from SC and I hear what sounds like a firework...I look up to see 3 dreadlocked thugs running and a handgun bouncing on the pavement. I immediately run to my kid and his friend, who were throwing a football, and grab them and get them to safety...turns out this idiot accidentally shot the gun and himself...which goes back to what I was saying...most of them are armed and have no idea how to properly handle a gun. This accidental shooting of himself could have easily hurt or killed someone else...it could have been my kid...thank God it was just his dumb arse. It was also the couple from SC first time in BR...and probably their last.

A few more things here...Why did his friends all take off running? Because they were likely to have warrants...Why does the problem look a certain way? Because most of these kids grow up without a daddy, and instead of addressing the issue head-on, we tiptoe around it because it's racist to point out facts these days.

I'll end here...my son was in the car this morning telling our neighbor about the game...first thing he tells him is about the gun and how someone shot themselves... that's his LSU gameday story and that's sad as frick.

I want to bring him back, but I have serious reservations about it, and it looks like I'm not the only one...Gameday has changed drastically for the worse, and if something is not done quickly...we won't ever get it back.
Someone else accidentally shot themselves 10 feet from where me and my 6 year old son were tailgating. Right by ROTC building. Can’t go anywhere anymore and escape the BS.

Defense was on the field the whole game due to our terrible offense...that tends to happen...tell me you've never played football without telling me

???

You consider such a small margin of victory lopsided???

Your Mississippi is showing...
Last time I went, I hooked up with a fine aggie chick (they actually exist) on a handicapped ramp at 3 am in the middle of campus...would recommend.

I mean it was an 5 point loss in a game where we were absolute TRASH. It should not have been close...should have beat us by 2 or 3 scores....but you didn't...5 points...if you want to call that domination, go ahead...maybe the sad reality is actually Ole Miss isn't as good as you want them to be either :dunno:
That’s fricking sad and pathetic. Get the frick over it and go watch your son play football you baby back bitch. What a shitty dad you are

I saw someone recommend termidor a while back. I had a TON of ant nests all over my yard. Tried termidor...sprayed each nest, did not even perimiter spray like they say to do...I have had maybe 4 ant nests pop up since when its usually been around 20-30
"They came in here and obviously played really, really well, We did not. It starts with me. Not good enough. You lose the turnover battle like we did tonight, when you turn the ball over four times in this league, you're going to get your butts kicked, and that's what happened tonight."

-your head coach

Sounds like turnovers were the culprit...not your paper soft qb
Sounds like a joke my dad would tell. I'm not pretending to laugh this time though
“Loudest” game ever and you post a shitty YouTube link. That’s some hard proof right there my dude. That was a loud moment…in which y’all lost

Swamp doesn't come close to williams brice. Ive been to both as well. It's honestly a myth how loud the swamp is. Very overrated environment.

Yeah you went to UF vs SC

Hard for anyone to get hyped for that game

Aside from being a stud on the field, when I took my young son to the TennRc series, he was one of the few starters, along with Curiel, to hang out with all the kids before the game, sign everything they handed him, and take pictures with all of them. He was the last player to walk into the facility and was probably close to being late to get inside. Heck of a guy and much respect toward him..he is for sure a Tiger through and through!
