But.....You still need to Go. You will be much happier back in the Big 12 with your real daddy Texas. A spoiled child paying 75 million for an average coach obviously needs to be back with his Daddy, and not his step father.
You'll have to translate this into a language that isn't "butthurt coonass".

I don't see how people can say things aren't better for Texas A&M. Their winning percentage in the eight seasons they've been in the SEC (.650) is much higher than their eight previous seasons in the Big 12 (.540). And Missouri's decline is primarily due to Pinkel getting sick. They won two division titles and were very competitive in the SEC when he was their head coach.

They should in theory but the traditions are holding them back. I may make fun of them but overall I get the quirkiness because it joins what is a massive student body together. With that said I don’t think there is a massive amount of 5 star 18 year olds who get it and for the most part get turned off by it. With that said their student body culturally is SEC and this is where they should be.
I've wondered if the whole "Dudes In Overalls" turns off some athletes.
It's weird and should probably get retired in the 21st Century.

football has been fine for mizzou. now, if we could split off basketball to the big 12, that’d b great

We're definitely better off for having left, but things aren't exactly perfect now. Mizzou football was in a good place when we left the Big 12. But at that time, the Big 12 looked like it was going down in flames. Two of our oldest rivals had already bolted thanks to the greed of Texas. Rumors were flying that OU and Texas were heading to the PAC 12, and Mizzou might be out of a major conference as a result. So when the SEC threw us a golden life raft, it was a no brainier to jump at the opportunity.
That said, our football program is not as healthy today as it was in 2011 when we left the Big 12. That is in large part due to internal problems (protests, Pinkel retiring, NCAA violations, bad hires, etc). But some of that is a result of growing pains in the SEC.
First and most obviously, we have no history with any of you, really. Nothing like the ku rivalry, or even the Nebraska rivalry. You can't replace 120 year rivalries overnight. Plus, most of the SEC schools seem to fricking hate us, or worse, be entirely indifferent to us. Takes the wind right out the program's sails.
Second, we are way behind competitively but our fanbase still expects results like we had in the Pinkel Big 12 years. Missourians simply don't support Mizzou the way most SEC states support their teams. Beyond that, we share a problem with Arkansas in the lack of local recruiting talent. We aren't going to beat UGA too frequently with a bunch of three star guys, unfortunately. That worked in the Big 12 because we were only truly outgunned by OU and Texas. And thanks to the way the schedule worked over there, we only played one of those two schools in a given year (barring the championship game, of course). Now, we are outgunned by the majority of the conference in terms of talent. No backdoor to a 10-win season.
I still think Mizzou will be happy in the SEC long-term. We will find our place and figure out a way to occasionally secure an SEC East title, may even a rare conference title. if nothing else, we are getting further ahead of our old conference rivals from the Big 12 with the money and competition of the SEC driving us forward. It does remain to be seen if the SEC will ever accept Mizzou though. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Good Lawd...Texas A&M and Mizzou are not going anywhere. Why do we have to revisit this day in and day out?
Remember these are fans endlessly typing this shite. They can say anything they want to feel better but the two schools will stay where they are cause those who let them in like them.

It definitely felt like a strange move for both sides initially, but I don't think y'all are as out of place as others who switched conferences (Rutgers, Maryland, WVU, ND's agreement with the ACC).
Frankly, I respect the hell out of your admins to have the foresight and ambition to pursue a place in the SEC. The realignment train was coming, and there was no guarantee it would ever come back around to Mizzou again if you didn't jump on when you did.
It sucks for all fans of college football that traditional rivalries and conferences have dissolved over the years, but in the last inevitable round of expansion, the SEC could've done much worse than Mizzou IMO.

been hearing that shite for 40 years.
fricking liar.
40 years ago was 1979. As late as 1975, we were too small of a school to even get a home-and-home with LSU, so we played in Baton Rouge every year.

Let's see. We've won the East twice and have increased revenue over 50%-60%? Yea, it would be suicide to return. Kicking arse and collecting checks? Yes please.

I’m ok with the current SEC.
First I really liked Arkansas in the West and the Old Football Coach at S Carolina!
The last expansion is mixed. With the permanent cross rival bs, LSU and Missouri hardly know each other. And A$M transfered their little brother annoyance bs from UT to LSU. But, I think going back to the SWC/Big 12 (only 2 actually, or maybe 1&1/2!
) would be a mistake for the teams, not the conference.

How stupid are you? They have more home run hires and can’t miss conference moves than all other programs combined... for fricks sake they don’t even have a Division Championship to show for a GOAT/Heisman QB.

Even though the SEC is full of dumbass fan bases, it's just a lot more fun and interesting than the B12. Money ain't bad either.
We're staying.

Except A&M has been dog shite for their entire history
Posted on 12/10/19 at 2:36 pm to AHM21
Hard to argue with that. But I will say one thing about A&M. They do have a connection to the SEC through LSU. LSU has actually played A&M more times than they have played Auburn. And I do think making it the last game of the year will help grow a rivalry. The other schools I don't believe had any connection the SEC through an often played common opponent.

I know you Bama fans think football is the only sport that matters but we're pretty good at some others. We're not poors either.
No desire to go back with those TX fricks and was really pissed when the Aggies followed us over.
