Please explain where we get 3 more wins?

Auburn, Murray State and Louisville.

Auburn is 2-5. Murray State is a cupcake. Louisville is a very mediocre 4-3 in the ACC and has to go to Kentucky.

Won’t happen. Heupel found his new home.

Hiring anyone from 2024 Vanderbilt is dumb, you don't hire a coach based on one season.

FYI. Jerry Kill did a good job at Minnesota until health issues ended his tenure. He got back healthy and worked miracles in New Mexico State. Now he’s kicking arse at Vandy. He’s an older non PC coach who wants to work behind the scenes. He doesn’t care about being a HC again. Tim Beck the OC is another former head coach; a veteran coach who likely isn’t concerned with another job unless he and Kill move together. Vandy has two highly accomplished coaches on their staff who likely don’t want more stressful jobs.

No o e cares about Clark Lea. He’s a shot coach. The OC is who folks want.

Crazy. Vandy (will get hired away) Florida (fired) Ole Miss (Kiffin will take Florida job) Oklahoma (fired) Kentucky (fired) Auburn (fired) Mizzou (Drink hired away if he makes playoffs) Hot seat: Alabama

Lea isn’t leaving Vandy unless it’s for a big job (which likely never happens). He’s just getting things going there.

Florida- they aren’t as bad as most expected and if they keep winning with Lagway, that job won’t be open this offseason. It could still fall apart, though.

Oklahoma- I’m not sure they pull the trigger on Venables yet, but it’s possible.

Kentucky- there’s a 0% chance they fire Stooops. Come on, man.

Auburn- Freeze gets another season because of their recruiting class.

Mizzou- Who is hiring Drink away? What big job looks like it will be opening up at the moment?

You forgot the most likely opening at the moment- Arkansas. Even if they finish out ok and are bowl eligible (and I think they will be), Pittman may be ready to step aside with his bad hip problems. He definitely doesn’t look right.

One of the top names programs will look at is Cignetti after the crazy turnaround he’s pulled off at Indiana. They had better put that Big 10 money to use to keep him there for another year or two.

Did anyone try last year? I’ve never heard his name mentioned for job openings.

doubtful. Between the buyout and the AD’s personality, I don’t see him making that move right after going through a basketball search. Plus Stoops will probably get the opportunity to fix things considering this is truly his first non-debateable disappointing season since he’s gotten things going in the right direction for UK

The ONLY one of those things that might happen is Oklahoma (fired).

None of the rest of them will happen.

Freeze has two more years rock bottom minimum, more likely three. Auburn PTB knew we had a major rebuild ahead after the Great Potato Famine. If the recruiting class holds at #3 this year, he gets three years more than likely.

UF would be wise to give Napier one more year. They have the youngest team in the SEC (USC and AU are just behind them) and he has a good foundation built there.

OU will likely give Venables two more years.

Kiffen will be gone after OM implodes next year. They lose 28 of their two deep to "graduation" this year.

And all these teams will have eleven wins next year. And the others won't come close. That's how this coaching thing works right?

Jerry Kill is the guy behind their not being terrible.

Not really.

It definitely helps that he brought like half an offense and himself to be OC, but there is a reason he took a demotion.

Jerry Kill isn't technically the OC at Vandy. Tim Beck is. He came over from NMSU with Kill. Kill's official title is like "special assistant to the Head Coach and senior offensive consultant".

It's his scheme, but Beck calls the plays. Lea coaches defense and he let's Beck and Kill do their thing on offense.
