Howard was not wide open last year when he took that flare pass turned the corner and outran most of the Clemson D until someone with an angle pushed him out way downfield.

They had matchup problems with him and with a good QB he has a chance to have a nice pro career

he only had 4 receptions in the game. i don't think one big play means it was a match up problem. Clemson held Ridley and Howard to a combined 140 yards.

the year before, it was a scheme issue. bama was using formations that Clemson had not seen, and they had not used Howard that much prior to the Clemson game.

howard was wide open on most of his big plays last two years due to Clemson players confused about the play. howard himself wasn't making sensational catches if i recall correctly and he didn't really need speed b/c he was so wide open.

i mean didn't he just basically run a go route and no DB covered him? dude is a talent for sure but his low production in college is noteworthy

Great numbers for an OT. I was confussed when I saw him running with the TEs. I bet Kiffin was too.

I'm betting that you're confused pretty often.

Clemson winning this year after what happened last year made the win even more sweet. it is the greatest redemption story in sports history.

Didn't someone else in the sec run a 4.51 recently? I think they played a position predicated on running. Funny how someone who's job is to run the ball is just as slow as someone whos job is to block

None of that was his fault. If we had a QB that was average at passing the ball he would have destroyed competition. The only thing these numbers tell us is that Alabama criminally underutilized his skills. It's tragic.

Coker was more than adequate at throwing the football in 2015. Howard's problem was play calling. But our offense did just fine that year without him being a receiving tight end.

This thread belongs on the MSB by the way.

i am letting Alabama win two years ago. my point was their special teams play is the main reason they won two years ago, not Howard. i never said bama has to apologize for it or implied special teams isn't part of the game.

You are letting Alabama win last year? That is very kind.

Couldn't Alabama say you only won this year because of a last second pick play?

i was using the language of a UGA fan, who like you, was white knighting for Alabama.

they could but that isn't true, Renfrow was wide open, the Bama defenders were covering another WR. Alabama got away with two targetings.

why is a MSU fan white knighting for ALabama. i guess you have to live vicariously through another program more successful. you seem bitter about alabama losing.

Did Howard beat Clemson this year? you can gush about him all you want. he had one big play in the game, for 68 yards. only 4 receptions.

CLemson had 4 different WR with 90 plus yards, including a walkon who had 10 receptions.

i don't understanding why the person who started this topic made it about Clemson.

the fact is Alabama doesn't win that game if not for special teams play. you guys got to keep talking abou tthis game b/c you can't talk about this year. you are so mad about it.

the reality is Clemson had a better resume last season. both teams had 1 loss and Clemson played a tougher schedule.

I see what you are saying. Clemson only won because Bama made a mistake in coverage. Without the Bama mistake leaving a WR wide open, Clemson should have gone home a loser again.

mistake in the coverage was due to it being a good play.

if Mckensie Alexander, Mike Williams, and Deon Cain could have played last year, and Shaq Lawson was full strength, it would have been a Clemson win. Clemson moved the ball without their best two WRs.

cracks me up Alabama fans even care when they lose a game or don't win a title. bama's only won 4 recent titles.

as Dabo said, Clemson was America's team for 24 hours because people have alabama fatigue. lol
