Kentucky is going with a throwback look for Saturday night’s matchup against LSU.

The Wildcats unveiled their classic “Power K” uniforms this week, bringing back a popular look from the program’s past for their Homecoming game at Kroger Field.
quote:

The look is modeled after Kentucky uniforms from the 1980s and is especially meaningful to first-year head coach Will Stein. His father, Matt Stein, played for Kentucky during that era under head coach Jerry Claiborne, and Stein has frequently worn Power K apparel since taking over the program. He recently described the logo as an “ode to the past” and said the first piece of Kentucky gear he remembers wearing as a child was a plastic helmet featuring the Power K.

Kentucky used the Power K on its helmets beginning in 1975 and through the early 1990s. The logo was part of some memorable seasons in program history, including Kentucky’s 1976 SEC championship team and the Wildcats’ 10-1 season in 1977.

That looks 10 times better than the UK logo.
