He probably should have the most pressure on him next to Beamer this year because he wasn't the head coach OM wanted to replace Coach Kiffin and was basically rushed to the podium Coach O style, his job security is very minimal now

Pete brought in the guy that Lane likely would have gone after if Weis had said no. Judge will still be the one that organizes things in the offensive room.

I'd say the guy with a $40 million roster and making $13 million a year has more pressure on him. With Jeff Lebby following a close second

He's won one SEC game in two seasons and lost to a G4 school by multiple scores.
To be clear, I'm not sure it's 100% his fault as State has drug their feet on NIL but he made a bad DC hire, retained the DC after a disastrous first year despite it being obvious he wasn't the answer, and I think only hired Arnett due to pressure from MSU people who knew/liked him. Recruiting is in the shitter for them right now.

I think the offense will stay the same for the most part, but we'll miss a few key checks at the line that Lane calls when he sees something not many people can see. That is where Lane is special. His work ethic isn't near what most other coaches are, so he's not recruiting as hard or watching the game film as much, but he can break down a defense quicker than 99% of the world and call the perfect play.
Optimistically, while I know there are 5 or so plays that Lane would have made the perfect play call to get the first down or a big play, I'm hoping Pete and this staff will avoid some of the dumb and ego calls he would make that would also cost us. Still will probably be a net negative for us on offense losing Lane, but that and the experience coming back are why I'm hopeful that the drop off won't be huge.
Weiss did a hell of a job last year, but if you looked at Ole Miss message boards in 2025, 90% of people were begging for him to leave or be fired. Obviously a lot changed last year but I think he can be replaced without missing too much.

Joe Judge taking over the organization of the offense from a staff/logistics standpoint made Charlie's job much easier. Charlie was able to solely focus on gameplan design and playcalling.
Trinidad being incredible didn't hurt either.

This. Best thing Golding did since Kiffin left was getting this guy. He ain't Kiffin, but he did have success by himself at ECU (?) and the system will essentially stay the same for Chambliss.
Ole Miss will be a tough out in 2026, but I expect them to start showing signs in 2027 of tDecline back to their mean.

There will definitely be a dropoff in offensive gameplanning. Baker might be a dropoff in playcalling compared to Weiss but probably about the same. We'll miss the handful of big plays per game that came off of LK play calls.
On the other side of the ball, we now have a HC who is investing in defensive players instead of blowing the whole budget on 10 WRs.
It'll be a very different team with different strengths, but I don't think we'll be any worse. If another year of experience for Chambliss and Lacy can offset the dropoff in offensive coaching, we'll be a much better team this year than last. If not, we'll be about the same but with very different strengths.
